São João is a very famous celebration in Brazil. In June, it is common to have parties in schools, shopping malls and any other place where they can be organized."Tickets" or "tokens" are a form of paper that can be bought and used as currency during these parties... they can be exchanged for snacks or attempts at festival games (such as fishing and target shooting).
