I've been keeping an updated infopage on ThinkDM which has all the latest information on Wizards of the Coast's latest D&D product: Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes. I've also linked the videos to the relevant parts where they actually talk about what's in the product, instead of sifting through the rest. Very exciting!

Tortle: Dodge vs. Shell Defense
Play around with this calculator to see how the Tortle's defenses fare against different attacks. In a melee situation, Dodge is always better than Shell Defense. In fact, at certain armor classes, Shell Defense is worse against melee than just doing nothing. Where Shell Defense really shines is against ranged attacks.
