In regards to when videos will be "Patreon supported"
Moving forward, here are things which I will NOT be charging Patreon supporters for:- Meme videos- Short versions of anime openings- Covers that for whatever reason I feel don't well represent paid patreon content on my channelOther videos starting with this month will be charged again, now that I've made it clear what my new approach to Patreon will be from previous update posts! There is...
Important JY Patreon Update
Hey, Patrons - Big changes happening. As some of you have noticed, I haven't posted here in awhile, and I haven't been active in the Patreon discord server. Three things have happened that are changing my perspective on Patreon:1. My career has become completely stable financially without Patreon, at least until YouTube changes.2. I'm realizing that I'll be a much better & healthy p...
Why Should I Worry - DISNEY COVER
This one was so much fun. I love funky covers, and I love Billy Joel, the original artist who recorded the song for the movie. This gave me a chance to really focus on making something fun and groovy rather than just copypasting and anime cover into my heavier style of singing & playing. This was a blast to sing, and I didn't put any pitch correction or melodyne of any kind on the lead vocal t...
Unravel (Tokyo Ghoul) FULL english opening
This one was fun. Falsetto is something I don't do often because I've always thought it doesn't suit my voice, but I'm really happy with how this turned out. The second half of the cover's vocals were actually recorded while I had a pretty nasty cold, but it turned out alright because it gave my voice a little bit of the illusion of "breaking" like when you're cryin...
OOGIE BOOGIE SONG (Metal cover)
HEY GUYS!!! The holidays are finally over so I have tons more time on my hands to make more videos for you guys. This one was way more fun than I expected. Disney songs like this where the villian is basically just being generically scary and talking for half the time give me lots of room for flexibility as a musician bringing my own energy to the song. I hit up my buddy Lee again to make a kick a...
STAR WARS - Cantina Band (Metal cover)
This cover (especially the bridge) was a real test of my lead guitar capabilities. I have some wrist problems & back problems, so I try not to do too many super guitar-intensive covers... but with the new Star Wars movie coming out I felt like I had to do something. Brandon killed it on the instrumental as always. Super djenty and juicy. Also, wearing the stormtrooper helmet made me realize a lot ...
Double Trouble (Team Rocket) METAL COVER
I've had this cover 80% done and saved on my hard drive for ages and finally with the release of the Pokémon album, Nikki and I finished it. It was a great pleasure finally getting to collaborate with Nikki Simmons (definitely give her a sub) who I have been watching since before I started my YouTube channel - she killed it on this cover. Initially I was really skeptical on how this cover was...
