Caught an evil book up to mischievous tricks! Working in a new workflow here, cutting out solid shapes in light and shadow before actually doing any sort of soft shading. I'm slow as I'm unfamiliar with it, but I can tell that making interesting shapes first will increase the quality of an image greatly, or in the least have the lighting "Read" well from viewing distance.
