When you're the king of all you see, and all you see is peanut butter cups.This is how I usually do panels, with a rough version of the background placed first, then the opacity turned down so i can draw on top of it. Afterward, the line art is colored and shaded and the background turned back up and finished to match it. :)

Webtoon Creation: Working With a Flats Artist

Because my new series Cinderella Boy is so much more work than Stagtown, I did have to take on an assistant, who is located overseas and does my flats. This means she's responsible for coloring all the flat colors for the characters, and then I go back in and add the patterns, shading, light effects, highlights on hair and fabric, etc. I am glad she's in charge of all those dumb stripes on...

When you're super bored as a comic artist

So often when I'm working long hours at home on my webtoon, I end up doodling on the panel art and sending it as a meme to some of my friends on Discord.
