Director's Commentary: The Best Moment in a Game This Year

It's the first time I used a green screen! And no one said anything!

The Best Moment in a Game this Year

A video about Immortality! And the power of music!!If you can, I really encourage you to watch this one on Nebula because there are *many* things that had to be removed to make it work for youtube.https://nebula.tv/videos/jacob-geller-the-best-moment-in-a-game-this-year

Director's Commentary: Sekiro's Parry and Other Pursuits of Perfection

Zen and the art of the perfect director's commentary??

Sekiro's Parry, and Other Pursuits of Perfection

"Let's have a nice normal gaming video" I said, before writing two pages about a motorcycle screw.Watch this video on Nebula: https://nebula.tv/videos/jacob-geller-sekiros-parry-and-other-pursuits-of-perfection

Director's Commentary: Fear of Big Things Underwater

In which Jacob reveals he's friends with the kraken and they play cards on sundays.

Fear of Big Things Underwater

Here it is! As y'all can probably imagine, these types of videos are pretty huge undertakings for me, AND as is tradition, replace a sponsor with a commissioned song. Because of all this, they're ESPECIALLY indebted to your support.

Patreon Special: The Kim Kitsuragi Jacket

This is the promised milestone for hitting 2700 patrons. For those unfamiliar, this is a jacket worn by one of the best characters in Disco Elysium. It is a very authentic and expensive reproduction, and hard to get one's hands on!Thank you to everyone for being here, letting me make increasingly ambitious videos AND do silly things like this. None of this would be possible without y'all.

Fixing My Brain with Automated Therapy

I know my brand is kind of based on unexpected topics, but this one feels particularly out of my own comfort zone so I hope you enjoy it! I am ultimately very proud of how it turned out. Here's the link if you'd prefer to watch it on Nebula: https://nebula.app/videos/jacob-geller-fixing-my-brain-with-automated-therapy/

I Can’t Stop Talking about Resident Evil 4 VR

Director's Commentary: What's the Point of Taking Apart a Body?

The end of the mad scientist miniseries

What's the Point of Taking Apart a Body?

2,500 Patrons Special! Haunted Houses Retrospective

Hey y'all. Thank you so much for your support over the past 3 years. Please enjoy the look back at this spooky essay. I didn't mention it, but this was also the first video ever funded by patrons. Some of the same people still supporting me now are in the credits of this very first one. I can't tell ya how much that means to me.

Director's Commentary: Why Does Metal Gear Rising Keep Getting More Popular?

After this, I promise I won't have any more to say about this game for AT LEAST two days.

Why Does Metal Gear Rising Keep Getting More Popular?

The time has come for me to talk about Revengeance.Nebula link: https://nebula.app/videos/jacob-geller-why-does-metal-gear-rising-keep-getting-more-popular/Also! May will hopefully be a TWO VIDEO MONTH. Make sure your Patreon account settings are at the level you want- I don't want to blindside anyone by unexpectedly charging twice.

MILESTONE SPECIAL: Documenting the Process

A long time coming- thank you for all your support! Hopefully this is an interesting look at the process of making one of these videos. This will probably take the place of a Director's Commentary on this one because it would covers all the same things, but I'm still happy to chat about the video itself in the Discord.

Head Transplants and the Non-Existence of the Soul

Once again, making an extremely in-depth video on something no one has ever asked for.ALSO: Check your patreon feeds! Along with this, I'm uploading the milestone goal of documenting the whole production of this video. It's pretty neat!

Director's Commentary: Perfect Moments in "Bad" Movies

Please enjoy this second helping of thoughts about CGI.

Perfect Moments in "Bad" Movies

This month's video! Perhaps a fluffier topic than normal, but it's been a couple pretty dark videos in a row and I wanted to do something upbeat.Nebula Version: https://nebula.app/videos/jacob-geller-perfect-moments-in-bad-movies/

Director's Commentary: Returnal is a Hell of Our Own Creation

Deja vu, all over again

Returnal is a Hell of Our Own Creation

THE JACOB GELLER READING LIST

Hi y'all. I'm very please to introduce a highly requested feature: an index and reading list of all the media I've talked about in my videos. The first part of this document is a listing of every game, book, and other piece of art that's been a focus of a video. Each of these is linked to the video in which it appears. If you've ever wondered "hey, what was the video where J...
