🕑 Added 2022-04-26 23:50:27 +0000 UTC Moving Reflections (more pics in a little bit)ππ¦ π As I pack my life away, I reflect on the past 12 years living in Pompano Beach, Florida. These were forsure the best years of my life, and if you told me that in the beginning, I wouldnβt have believed it. In May of 2010, I moved from Weston (a very affluent part of South Florida) to Pompano Beach which was literally the ghetto. I didnβt understand it, why me? Sounds a little dramatic, but my thought process has changed a lot since thenπ. For the first 3 years, I had zero friends out here and it was very lonely. At the time, I was a very social person so I hated it. Then one day, I saw people surfing and it was there and then that I knew that was what I NEEDED to do. The surf community was very inviting, I bought my first board and became apart of the crew. For the first time in my life, I felt like I had real friends and it was a great feeling. Sometimes, you overlook certain things and life and see it later on, retrospectively. This was NOT one of those things; I knew I was living the best days of my life. As we all grew together, Pompano grew as well. It became a much more desirable place to live. It was nice to finally feel like I wasnβt living in a dump, but at the same time it kinda killed the local vibe. Up until a few years ago, it was a very sleepy town where everyone knew everyone. Now, I go to the beach and donβt know a single soul which is kinda depressing. But anyways, about 5 years ago, all of my friends began to move and start their life somewhere else in the world- some in Cali and others went to Hawaii. I miss them and itβs been very lonely here without them. I probably should have left here when they did, as it has been a very uneventful 5 years. I havenβt been able to make friends like them. I have learned so much these past 12 years and it has shaped me to who I am today. I am so grateful for this place and as much as I will miss it here, I am stoked to start a new chapter somewhere else and hope to meetnew likeminded people π So hereβs to the future, life is beautifulπ₯ π» β€οΈ
