It will include some naughty items on our list, as well as sentimental. We ALWAYS get asked why & when we entered the lifestyle. I feel like weโve discussed it before, but we have new subscribers joining daily so itโs always asked about. My health was our turning point. A revelation that we are mortal, life is to be appreciated on a daily basis. My health scare began September 2018. A culmination of abnormal tests led me to an oncologistโs office where he confirmed, after having received the results of my last biopsy, that I had cancer. Once he said the C word my brain shut down. Drew squeezed my hand and he listened to the doctor. For four months I wanted to rip my body open and cut those cells out! The longer they existed the greater my fear grew. But relief came January 2019 when the doctors successfully removed them, without the need for chemo or radiation. And 2 weeks after my surgery Drewโs car got totaled by a cement truck while he was working. That was our wake up call. I switched my life around that year. Enrolled in grad school, got a new job working 3rd shift to enable me to go to school in the daytime. We both recovered. And Spring 2020 we opened our marriage. My health scare mobilized us to live each day like itโs our last. We laugh alot. Tell our friends and family that we love them. Small issues are inconsequential. I kept my cancer crisis to myself. Only Drew, immediate family and my boss knew. I told my best friend the day before my surgery only because my mom threatened to tell her if I didnโt. I wanted no one to know! That ugly word didnโt deserve any recognition and I didnโt want any pity or empathy from anyone. Only now can I really discuss it. And itโs never over unfortunately. I see my oncologist regularly and have a very important test next month. Doctors orders are to remain โstress free, and sleep.โ My play dates are certainly great stress relief!! Long story shortโฆcancer and a car crash got us playing in the lifestyle. I changed my diet, I work out regularly. I met with a trainer for months to get me comfortable using free weights. I dress sexier. My confidence is boosted. I have more strength and endurance than I had when I was younger! Iโm thankful for my health because without it, we likely never wouldโve opened our marriage! Hereโs some gym pics from this morning. My body is still a work in progress but Iโm loving it regardless!!!
