ππ I had an amazing time with the Special Valentine's Day Live with you all yesterday! As you saw, my computer totally fell and I spilled everything everywhere with a sudden cut off to the show π€£π€£π€£ but I am SAFE β₯οΈ! We women tend have difficulties here and there hahah but we progress on! ππ
Speaking of women and difficulties...
*** π€―π€― Did You Know?! π€―π€― ***
Women in Black History and History overall tend to never be noticed or over shadowed by men! Hence the name "His"tory. Today I am focusing on Black "Her"story ππ₯!
The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movment was created by 3 radical African American female organizers by the name of Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi. This is a powerful beautiful Black centered political will and movement building project, created in 2013, that was a response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin's murderer, George Zimmerman.
African American women, alos, actually led the Suffrage movement too! History found a way to eradicate the African American women and replace them with White American Women in this striggle to vote. Both fought for the same thing (the right to vote) but only one recognized and listened to in the end to create the change that was finally needed for women to have these basic human rights!
Dorothy Heights, an African American civil rights av3tivist & leader, was a THE MAJOR part in with the Big 6 on the historic march to Washington, D.C. leading to the famous "I Have a Dream Speech" in 1963. This was a lone woman at a table full of men! Despite all her efforts, Heights wasn't able to convince the men that a woman should have led the speech the day of the March.
Who would have known?!
Did you know women tend to be the backbone throughout history?
Would you have let her speak?
Would you have let her vote?
Would you have let her lead an organization?
Who would have known?!
Lets discuss!! β¬β¬β¬β¬ Comment Below β¬β¬β¬β¬
