Weekly update - April 5th

I think most of you can guess what I've been up to this week. Chapter 7 is now complete and available for Best Friend tier to download. If you've had a chance to play it, I hope you enjoyed it, it's a little darker than previous chapters.
I think with Chapter 7 in particular, I would encourage everyone to play both paths, as it will be a completely different experience with a lot of path specific scenes and less shared ones.
I've also made Chapter 7 now available for purchase on Itch and also updated the Steam site to the new version.
For those on the Great Friend tier I have made C7 part 1 available to you now. And as a bonus for Good Friend tier, Chapter 5 is now available to you. Just click on the collections menu option to find all the downloads available to your tier.
I've begun working on Chapter 8. I'm halfway through the sequencing of the individual scenes and about to add more detailed scripting right now. For once my rendering rig is waiting on my script work, but I generally know what I need to render and have begun rendering out those scenes.
Chapter 8 will incorporate the summer holidays for the pair and also year 2 of their studies. In England generally university students tend to band together to rent out large houses for the term. Dorm/Halls are only generally given out to freshers (first year students) as the are extremely limited. If you've been playing along you should know who our protags are sharing a house with now.
Chapter 8 is also going to be the final BIG chapter, with 9 and 10 being somewhat smaller in size. That's really due to the flow of the story and my desire not just add fill content such as the pair studying for an exam, or "Michael's" Uni football team getting hammered, yet again.
Saying goodbye 7 means I don't need to render inside the dorm room anymore and I can tell you, I'm very happy about that. It's a difficult environment to work in and rendering times are long. Hopefully the new locations will be a little better but you never know.
OK , so away from development. I kind of missed something when I built my Steam store page. I wasn't aware that you could put a demo of your game directly on the page. That would have help me not get a lot of negative feedback about not being the type of game the player thought it was. I'll be focusing on adding that demo (which is chapters 1 - 4) over the next few days.
I think that's it. As always really happy to hear any feedback on the latest version you've played. If you have any questions about the story, would love to hear them also, hell I might even try to tell the truth when I answer them, but I don't do spoilers :)

Those are excellent points Francesco. I'll look to add something that addresses them post story completion. For the Dorm room scenes in particular, I think I was a little cognizant of the fact that a lot of scenes take place there and I felt the need to not over do it.

Just my 2 cents, [CONTAINS SPOILERS] some filler content isn't that bad, it also helps giving a sense of time passing, you don't need to go in depth, but having some short 3-4 frames scenes of day to day life would've helped with the pacing of chapters 6-7, instead we only know stuff because we're told, we don't see it so it's less real. For example, we only know Michael doesn't sleep at the dorm much anymore because we're told that, while it would've helped having sprinkled over the chapter 3-4 scenes of Emma going to bed alone with some thoughts about not seeing Michael anymore, there is a reason Show Don't Tell is a tenet of storytelling.
