Weekly update - Dec 27th

I hope you all had a great Christmas and are all set for the New Year.
I've been busy working away on the next update, which honestly is turning out to be a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be initially. I've completed a total of 7 scenes, halfway through the 8th one, the screen shot above is from that scene but there are still 11 to go !
Something clearly went awry in my planning for this chapter because as I stated before, I average about 20 scenes per chapter and part one of Chapter 5 was already 12 scenes long. So if my maths is correct 19 scenes planned for part two + 12 scenes already delivered as part one equals 31 total scenes!
How do I tackle this? Clearly I will not be able to complete the full 19 scenes by Jan 10th. I did a quick estimate last night and came out with Jan 18th as a target date for completing. However I could split the chapter up into three parts and deliver around 8 scenes a few days into the new year while I deliver part three and complete Chapter 5 on around Jan 20th (splitting it up into two releases requires more testing and time to build the distributions of course). Those 8 scenes are logical split point in the story line, note: The scenes I have completed are not in order right now, so it's not just a case of finishing the scene I am currently on.
I'm kind of leaning towards that approach right now, but I haven't totally made up my mind yet on this. I will see how progress goes, the next few days. The only issue is, it might seem a little short if you only play one path, it's basically just 6 scenes for each path (some scenes are shared). The bulk of the remainder falls into the third part.
I think that's it for now, I'm actually pretty happy with the progress and the way this chapter is coming together, it's just a lot longer than I had planned and it seems like sometimes I am going overboard on the rendering, my last scene completed ended up being 68 renders long yet it is not a major scene.

Unless you have already released Ch. 5 part 1, I would suggest increasing Part 1 (if you can) to 15 scenes; then finish with 29-31 scenes to Part 2. Done. Just a thought, and don't worry too much about proposed release dates. - It Is Done when it is Done!

Thanks Paul, I appreciate that. I have to admit I'm part of issue too as I just want to let you guys get a hold of the updates as fast as I can. I feel OK about this one because the delay in completing chapter 5, it's not due to the lack of content, it's just too much :)

I am pleased with your progress, and know a single dev has so much work to do. I have no issue with splitting the releases in ANY way you are happy with. Just keep doing what works for you, at a pace you can handle. Too many devs get burn out. They feel too much pressure to make their paid supporters happy. As a paid supporter, I am just happy you are able to continue to work on this excellent story, regardless of your release schedule.
