WAKE ME UP when September Lewds~
🕑 Added 2021-10-01 21:37:16 +0000 UTCExploration can be just as much about explaining weird phenomena as it is about finding the weird stuff in the first place. As it turns out, we humans have two such interesting and unexplained worlds right in our own solar system; as a bonus, both orbit the same ringed gas giant. One is Saturn’s large moon Iapteus, with its peculiar ridge running along its entire equator. The other is its much smaller moon of Hyperion, with its strange porous structure. This story involves the latter…, well, it involves it for a little while.

Professor-Kektnranh-of-Rgnalt possessed the good fortune to have both the clout and the funding to visit both of these fascinating places. But her clout and fortune only went so far. Because her expedition was right in the middle of the tiny-chompers’ home system, UTF regulations stipulated that she musthave a tiny-chomper on board while her ship was within [Dirt’s] jurisdiction. This caused a couple of irritating consequences.
The first consequence was a lot of tedious training on how to interact with the smaller aliens. Training which, in her mind, could have been better spent doing anything else. She kept telling the powers-that-be that there was a simpler solution…keep that damned tiny-chomper nuisance as far away from her as possible. Nobody listened, of course. The second consequence involved the…unique scent of a tiny-chomper and its unfortunate similarity to that of an abandoned pup. That in turn required her to leave behind her usual pilot and companion, a placid Jornissian named [Snhlanfhn], and hire a male Dorarizin to act as both pilot and tiny-chomper-scenter.
Although now Kektnranh had to admit that all of that previous frustration was worth it. In the tank of her holographic display rotated an irregular gray lump. Its surface was covered not with the usual craters but with deep sharp-edged pits which made it look like a giant sponge.
This was no stored image, but a real-time scan of the strange moon which her ship, the Gnrnanth, now orbited. Well, ‘orbited’ might be too generous of a term given the small size of this satellite. Not to mention its own orbit around [Saturn] was a wobbly chaotic nightmare. She had to give Nglhrn-of-Ahrdr credit, and grudgingly admitted to herself that the Dorarizin’s piloting skills were almost the equal of [Snhlanfhn].
Kektnranh rubbed her red-furred paws together in glee as she began planning where exactly to send the sampling drones. Her good mood evaporated as her door slid open and in strolled someone much smaller than her, clad in his usual blue coveralls.
Tiny-Chomper Pokes-With-Tools gave her a cheerful nod of his bald head and pulled a scanner out of his ever-present toolbelt. “[Now where are you, my little wayward friend…?]”
“{What do you want?}” snapped Kektnranh.
“[Sorry, ma’am. One of the humidity sensors in here is acting wonky but I’m not sure which one. Gotta check each one manually.]” He glanced up at the image floating in the tank. “[Hey, cool! That’s [Titan-Father-of-Sun-and-Moon]?]”
She ground her fangs together. “{Yes. How long will your testing take?}”
“[Just a few minutes, ma’am, and I’ll be out of your fur.]”
Kektnranh waved a dismissive paw. “[Get on with it. You’re distracting me.]” She wondered again why the tiny-chompers had foisted a technician, of all things, on her. They’d barely mastered getting off of their homeworld when the Karnakians discovered them. She always had to resist the urge to flinch when seeing Tiny-Chomper-Pokes-With-Tools working on any of her ship’s systems. Sometimes she expected him to pull a stone knife out of his toolbelt and start hacking away.
But thus far he’d been competent…for a primitive. She did her best to ignore him and focus on her planning as he moved around the room, humming to himself and waving his scanner around. As he passed behind her, Kektnranh’s nose became even more filled with his scent. There was Nglhrn’s scent overlying everything, but under that was his own unique aroma; the combination made him smell like a mature male. She shifted her stance, and as her thighs rubbed together she realized her instinctive response was not maternal, but lustful. Kektnranh’s growing anger at her own wayward libido wasn’t helped by his sudden exclamation.
“[Aha! There’s the naughty one!]” The tiny-chomper opened an access port and pulled out a small black nodule. “[I’ll get it recalibrated and put it back in later on.]”
The Dorarizin did not hide her irritation. “{What’s the point? There are backup sensors.}”
“[Yeah, but if you let small problems slide they can turn into big ones. Anyways, I’ll wait to reinstall it when you’re not here. Sorry for the interruption.]” He wandered out of the door with the usual wobbly gait of his kind. Kektnranh resisted the urge to huff in annoyance and turned again to her planning.

When the door was safely shut, Emil wondered once more what he’d done to piss off Professor Kektnranh (AKA Katy). He’d been polite to her from the start and always strove to be useful. Emil figured that such behavior was the best way to make up for the fact that his presence had been ordered by the UTF.
Her irritation wasn’t a Dorarizin quirk, either. He got along fine with Nglhrn (AKA Ned), the pilot. That was fortunate, since he was forced to be bunkmates with the giant gorilla-werewolf. Nglhrn was a calm, friendly sort even if he did sometimes snore.
It was a pity, really. He wasn’t up on which features Dorarizin considered attractive, but Emil found Kektnranh beautiful. Everything about her; the dark red fur, her light green eyes, her adorable pointed ears and fuzzy head-fur that he wanted so badly to feel between his fingers.
After seeing their current location in the professor’s display, he decided to detour to the bridge and get a look at the real thing. Or at least a projected image of the real thing. Emil bounced the malfunctioning sensor in his hand and hummed happily, his problems with Kektnranh now quickly forgotten. He was getting to work in space, and he got to fix things. What could be better?
Nglhrn gave a Dorarizin ear-smile at Emil as the human entered the bridge. Outside the ‘windows’ tumbled the strange, porous shape of Hyperion. “Wow. That is one weird moon.”
The pilot nodded an ear, his large gray-furred body occupying the motorcycle-like shape of a Dorarizin workstation. “[Sure is. Pretty damn hard to match orbits with, too.]”
“At least we have the best pilot around.” Emil reached up and placed a friendly hand on the pilot’s massively-muscled shoulder.
Nglhrn grinned, showing lots of teeth. “[You know it!]” They both regarded Hyperion in silence for a moment.
“Why doesit look so weird?”
“[The doc explained it to me. See, [Hyperion] is a lot less dense than normal. So instead of a meteor coming in and ‘splashing’ on the surface to make a normal crater, it instead pokes a hole. Kind of like sticking a claw into a block of foam.” Nglhrn jabbed an extended claw of his own towards the moon’s image as if in demonstration. “[The big question is, what’s the moon made of? How did it form? If it’s that fragile, [Hyperion] should be just a loose jumble of rocks. But yet something about its composition holds it together.]”
Before Emil could reply, both of their commbeads clicked on.
“[I have the drone orbits finalized. Please prep for launch in [two hours].]”
“[Understood, ma’am,]” said Nglhrn with his usual calm. “[I’ll be ready.]”
“I’ll run diagnostics on the drones as well,” said Emil. “I can get that done in two hours, easy.”
Kektnranh’s irritation oozed through the commbead. “[The drones were inspected and tested before loading. Please leave them alone.]” She clicked off as Emil sighed.
“I just don’t get her. Why does she have to be such a bi…ice queen?”
Nglhrn gave a thoughtful ripple of his razor-sharp fangs. “[Kektnranh’s just stressed, is all. She’s got a lot of money and reputation invested in this mission.]”

Precisely two hours and fifteen minutes later, Emil was in the midst of some finicky repairs of the mis-behaving temperature sensor. Well, to be fair it was more a case of ‘look through the microscope and guide the micro-waldos as they solder’. It was a nice way to pass the time until a certain bitchy Dorarizin female cut in on the all-hands channel.
“[One of the drones isn’t achieving its intended orbit.]”
With supreme effort, Emil managed to bite back a response of ‘I told you so.’ He touched his commbead. “Send me the details. It could be a simple fix, I can get out there in a jiffy.”
“[Oh? Tell me [human], do you have a proper suit?]”
Emil blew out a breath as he realized that the damn ice queen had a point. “Okay, it’s an emergency pressure suit, but if we fit it with a thruster pack I can get there and back no problem.”
“[In this radiation environment? No, I forbid it. I’ll take my mech suit. You can direct me in performing any necessary repairs.]”
Before Emil could register any pleasure at Kektnranh’s grudging inclusion of him in the mission proper, Nglhrn responded. “[Ma’am, that suit is intended for sample gathering on [Iapetus]…]”
Kektnranh cut him off. “[And therefore it’s the best-armored for this purpose. I’m moving to the airlock.]”
Some techie intuition made Emil realize what would happen next. He set his repair workstation into safe mode with a few quick key-strokes, then sprung up and sprinted towards the door of his little workshop/quarters area. The Dorarizin-sized corridor outside felt far too big as he ran; it was almost like one of those dreams where one runs and runs yet never gets anywhere. Emil didn’t slacken his pace; he knew he had to get to the airlock’s vestibule before Kektnranh left.
In that he succeeded, although by the time he reached his destination the professor was mostly finished with donning her armored mech-suit. It may have been designed for use on a moon’s surface, but it would also function well for an EVA like this.
Her large, red-furred head snapped around towards him as Emil grabbed the nearest door-edge to stop himself in mid-sprint. “[What are you doing here?]”
The human caught his breath before replying. “I need to check your suit, ma’am. This is the first time it’s been taken out…”
She interrupted him by pointing one armored finger at his face. “[No. Just…no.]”
Emil quashed the sudden flare of anger in his gut. “Let me guess. It was checked and tested prior to being stowed, right? By the same people who checked the drones?”
Kektnranh leaned forward, treating the human to the close-up sight of a face-full of fangs which were more than capable of biting his head clean off. “[Listen. I didn’t want you on this ship. I still don’t want you on this ship, so go and be annoying anywhere else.]”
With that she stood back upright and twisted her wedge-shaped helmet on, turning herself into a faceless chrome statue. Kektnranh spun on her heel and marched into the airlock without looking back in the slightest.

Emil slouched in his own human-style chair which was situated next to Nglhrn’s pilot console. “Annoying, she says,” he muttered.
“[Relax, [Emil]. Like I said, she’s got a lot invested in…]”
The human’s irritation was such that he took the unprecedented step of interrupting his friend. “That’s no excuse! I know I’m here because of some human bureaucrat creating a make-work program, but I’ve been trying! Not to mention the reason she’s going out there in the first place is because she wouldn’t let me run diagnostics on those drones. Now she’s out there and still wouldn’t let me check her suit!”
Nglhrn replied with a shrug. “[The drone was a fluke. I’m sure she’ll be fine…]”
As if on cue Kektnranh’s voice cut in. The normally icy-calm Dorarizin sounded…flustered? “[Hello, it’s…um, it’s getting hot in here.]”
“[What?]” Nglhrn sputtered. Emil just stared up at the screen in disbelief. The small silvery speck of Kektnranh’s suit hovered alongside the spongy gray mass of Hyperion, a peaceful scene of cosmic splendor belied by the rising panic in her transmitted voice.
“[Something is wrong with the suit. I keep moving the set temperature lower, but the actual temperature keeps rising.]”
Nglhrn’s tone dropped into a no-nonsense bark. “[Get back to the ship, now. We’ll have a look at it.]”
Emil didn’t like the distracted manner of Kektnranh’s reply. “[But the drone is right here…I…okay…]” The human let out a relieved sigh as the silvery speck of the professor’s suit started to grow larger.
And then his breath caught as that speck began to veer off. ”[Where…where is ship…I can’t see it…]”
“She’s going into heat-stroke,” snapped Emil. “You need to get in your suit and get out there.”
Nglhrn became a gray blur, moving almost too fast for Emil’s safety as he galloped for the bridge exit on all fours. Emil made sure his commbead was set to the professor’s channel. “Katy? This is Emil. Keep talking to me, okay?”
“[…I…the [human]? What’s going on…]” By now her suit was close enough to make out her limbs, but Emil could tell she wasn’t heading in the right direction.
He gripped his chair’s armrests and breathed out. Emil thought frantically through what he knew of suit cooling systems. Most of his training had been on human EVA suits, not on those made for Dorarizin…but on the other hand, many of the systems in human suits merely copied those of the aliens. Heat was heat, and there were only so many ways to move it around. If her system was similar…yes, that might be it.
“Katy!”
No response.
“Katy! Damn it, talk to me!”
Her response was disturbingly faint. “[What…who is that, please stop shouting…]”
He continued shouting. “[Look down at your right, near your jaw. You should see a small black nodule. Can you see it?”
“[Nodule…oh, that? Yes…I see it.]”
“That’s your primary temperature sensor. Smash it, bite it, do what you can but you’ve got to wreck it. Do you understand?”
Emil expected some sort of half-hearted protest, but instead he heard a plethora of grinding and snarling followed by a satisfying crunch. Within less than a minute, Kektnranh came back on the line. She now sounded much more composed and lucid.
“[Whoo…that’s better. As a matter of fact, it’s getting kind of cold. Maybe too cold?]” Her suit coasted to a halt.
The human blew out a breath he hadn’t realized he’d been holding. “That’s okay. Ned is on his way out, he’ll lead you back to the airlock.”

Emil slid the new sensor into its place in Kektnranh’s helmet. “There we are! I’ll have to do an autopsy on the original one, but my guess is that it somehow got installed backwards. So your suit thought it was getting colder, but instead it was doing the reverse.”
His quarters felt more cramped than usual, thanks to much of it now being occupied by Kektnranh’s giant and distractingly-sexy body. She cocked her head in thought. “[Interesting. So when I destroyed the sensor, the cooling system defaulted to the other sensors?]”
He handed the repaired helmet to Kektnranh. “Yep. I know it got really chilly really quick, but it was either that or let your brain cook.”
She took the proffered helmet with a slight shudder. “[A sensible trade-off. You have my profuse thanks for your quick thinking.]” The Dorarizin strode for the door, then paused and turned back. “[I see you are more useful than I expected. After this, I will be mounting other expeditions. If you wish a place in them, it’s yours.]” Emil’s commbead got across her tone of grudging respect...which wound up pissing him off beyond imagining.
As Kektnranh turned away, she froze at the sound of Emil slapping his workstation surface with both palms. He pushed himself to his feet, glowering up at her as she turned her head back with one curious ear raised.
“Professor Katy, with all due respect…kiss my ass.”
Her eyes widened. “[I…what?]”
“Did I stutter? Kiss. My. Ass. Put yer lips right on my pucker, buttercup.”
“[You…]”
Her retort was blown away by his angry shout. “SHUT UP for once! You’ve been treating me like shit since I set foot on this barge. I know I was foisted on you, and I know you think I’m some fucking primitive who can’t use anything more complex than a hammer. But damn it, I earned my slot in the placement program. You didn’t want me to touch the drones, okay, fine. But then one of them went tits-up, and in spite of that warning sign you told me to keep away from your suit as well.”
He paused, as if daring her to respond. She didn’t, so he continued. “Then you went out and damn near died. You’re not infallible, so drop the attitude Princess! I’ll do my damn job to the best of my abilities until the end of this mission, but it’ll be a chilly day in hell before I ever fly with you again.”
In a daze, Kektnranh turned her head away and knuckle-walked her way out of his room.

The next few hours passed without a serious incident. Kektnranh took her spacesuit out again…after a thorough going-over by Emil, of course…and repaired the wayward drone with his coaching. Their communication with each other was professional, but quite frosty.
After she’d returned, he’d retreated to his quarters to get away from the other two Dorarizin. He wasn’t sulking, of course. Children sulked. Emil just wanted to…ponder things. Yeah, that was it. Pondering things. Mostly, his pondering consisted of counting how many days it would be until he could get his ass off of this damn ship. Emil knew he shouldn’t indulge in such thoughts; there were a lot of milestones to get through before then, and he should keep focused on achieving those. Plus, he really liked Nglhrn and knew the big guy would be sad at losing his nighttime cuddle-buddy.
His door gave a soft chime. By Dorarizin hours it was about bedtime, so Emil figured that Nglhrn must be here to collect him. He pulled himself up off of his couch. “Come in! Hey, Ned, lemme brush my teeth and…”
Emil trailed off as the big, dark-red figure of Kektnranh squeezed herself through the doorway. The door slid shut behind her. In the human’s mind, the soft hiss of that closing sounded out like a clang of doom. He swallowed, remembering his prior rant which had taken place in this very room. “Ah, ma’am? What can I do to help you?”
She held up a big paw in a conciliatory gesture. “[For right now, please listen. I know I’m the last person you want to see right now. But I’ve thought about what you said and you were right. I misjudged you. I’ve also realized why I was so short with you. You’re too distracting.]”
He sat back on the couch and ran some slightly-shaky hands along his thighs. “Distracting how? I want to know what I’m doing wrong.”
Kektnranh padded forward and loomed over his seated form. “[Oh, it’s nothing nefarious on your part. It’s just that you’ve been too polite, and smelled too good.]”
“I smell…good?” Emil just managed to keep the squeak out of his voice.
She leaned down, her shaggy head at least three times the size of his. One part of Emil’s brain calculated over and over how well his own noggin would fit in her mouth, and kept coming up with the answer ‘yes, and with plenty of room to spare’.
There were times that Emil really, really hated his brain. He saw her nostrils dilate as she inhaled his scent.
“[Oh yesss,]” she whispered. “[The way you act, and the way you smell…it’s just like a courting male of my species. And I realized that, deep down, I wanted to take you up on your proposition.]”
Emil wanted to squeak out courting? but couldn’t even get the first syllable out of his mouth. His view was filled with Kektnranh’ broad chest, the muscles of which strained at her pale gray uniform. Another Dorarizin would have considered her relatively small and weak, but she was still plenty big enough to snap him in two.
His eye twitched as she reached out one finger and pressed it carefully against his coverall-clad stomach, which then became full of butterflies as she traced that fingertip up along his chest. Her emerald eyes fixed on his own, her usual harsh stare now warm and…playful?
He’d heard stories, of course. Everybody had heard stories of humans fooling around with aliens, but Emil had long ago determined to keep things professional even if he got a pass or two. But this wasn’t just a raised ear or possible mis-reading of body language. This was a straight-up proposition to fuck, and he’d been stuck in space with no intimacy for many months.
Emil finally found his voice. “You mean, um, you think I’m coming on to you? Asking to mate?”
Her finger moved up past his collar, tracing along the bare skin of his neck with gentle precision. For the moment, that finger’s claw was sheathed. Emil tried not to think about how Dorarizin claws could slice through metal as she leaned forward. Her warm breath washed over his face, and to his surprise it was quite pleasant and minty.
“[Exactly. Oh, I know you aren’t doing it on purpose. But all the same you’ve got me, heh, in the mood. So would you like to?]” She smiled, an expression he’d never expected to see on her face. “[I promise to be gentle, [Emil].]”
Somehow her use of his proper name decided him. Well, that and some serious horniness thanks to a very long dry spell. “I…I would like to.” He glanced over at his human-sized bed, one that would never fit the big Dorarizin. “But I think we’ll need to go to your quarters.”
Kektnranh laughed and scooped Emil up off of the couch. As she cuddled him against her chest, her scent filled his head. It was a warm fresh smell which coiled into his brain and relaxed him into her embrace. He wrapped his arms around her thick neck and, on instinct, pushed his nose into the crook formed between her neck and muzzle. “You smell nice too,” he whispered.
She gave a rumble of approval, and the slight vibration woke him up downstairs. Kektnranh glanced down at the rising bulge at the crotch of his coveralls, then back up at him with a lewd set to her ears. “[Hmm, I do believe I need to take care of that as soon as possible. Can’t have my clever little man getting too pent up!]”

Emil tumbled as Kektnranh tossed him into the cushioned surface of her denpile. He rolled onto his back and began to tug at the zipper at the front of his coveralls, only to be stopped by her raised paw.
“[No, wait. Me first.]” She reached up and pressed a magnetic catch on her collar, and it obligingly fell open. His breath hitched as she peeled back her outfit’s lapel, exposing more of that red fur he found so attractive. She swayed her hips as she repeated the process with the other side of her top, and the glory of her muscled torso now lay bare before his hungry gaze.
Kektnranh tossed aside her top with a sly look at his flushed face, then reached for her waistband. Emil let out a shaky breath as she peeled off her pants, revealing thick thighs quite capable of crushing him without effort. That fact didn’t dissuade ‘Little Emil’, however; by now he was diamonds…a condition betrayed by the even-more-obvious tent in his clothing.
The nude Dorarizin sashayed towards him, her tail wagging and her paws clasped behind her head. “[I see you approve,]” she said with a deep laugh. But as Emil reached again for his zipper, she brought one paw around to point at his face. “[Oh, no. My savior should conserve his strength…please allow me.]”
She spoke the last word with a guttural growl that somehow made him even harder. His breathing became more rapid as she knelt before him, then planted her paws on either side of his head. As she loomed over him, he saw a brief moment of doubt in her eyes.
“[You want this, [Emil]? You’re not just acting out of fear?]”
“Fear? Hell no, you’re beautifuluuumph…!” Emil’s declaration became muffled as Kektnranh bent down and ‘kissed’ him. Due to the shape of her head, it was more like ‘open mouth wide and engulf head’ rather than a lips-meeting human-style kiss, but still her tongue found its way into his mouth with just as much fervor. She ground her nethers against his still-clothed crotch while her tongue wrestled with his. As she kept up her oral ravishing, her paw reached up to tug at his coverall’s zipper.
Kektnranh broke off her deep kiss and began sniffing all down his chest and belly as she slowly exposed his bare skin, inhaling deeply of his scent all the while. She spent a long while sniffing all around his briefs-enclosed erection. “[You have other clothes, yes?]” she asked.
“Er, what? Yeah, I know it all looks the same but I always have clean coveralls ready…” His words trailed off in a surprised hiss as she extended one razor-sharp claw and hooked it into the waistband of his underwear. With one precise yank she sliced down through the crotch of his clothing, then giggled as his erect shaft sprang up from its imprisoning clothing and bounced off of her snout. She regarded his exposed manhood with clear hunger.
Emil was suddenly very self-conscious about his size. Given her much larger size, it only stood to reason that a Dorarizin male’s ‘equipment’ would be that much bigger than his own. “Um, will this, ah…work?”
She looked up and gave a sly wink. “Oh, yes. I’ve heard that you [humans] are much bigger proportionally, and I’m glad to see that it’s true.” Kektnranh exhaled, her warm breath washing over his manhood and making it twitch. “[But first, I want to see how you taste.]”
