he really needs to have the realization of "im best at crafting" again, even if its technically not true at this point but his combination of skills already put it on par or above 3rd tier crafters. a full suit of armour and including a helmet cause ya know he got his head deleted would be expected. with all his defensive skills and connect letting him use other peoples skills in crafting would let him make a master piece defensive suit that would make him harder to kill then rook. or he could go full mecha using souls to power a suit that makes him better at everything with the crazy defensive skills he has woven through adamantium and other precious metals, and offensive skills that could put him on par with 3rd tier physical combat specialists. not the mention he could make full on mecha soldiers and ensoul them to try and make an automaton species that could help in the war effort or make crazy vessels for the gods with him putting souls in that pray to the gods opening them up for "possession"

I’m going to put out a vote that Ben’s first order of business is getting into the forbidden basement in the library. Least morally dubious of the options, almost certainly impossibly easy to do, and should save time on deciding future options.

He’s honestly running low on Towers at this point, doubly so since his usual adventuring team has already finished what he hasn’t. Which is sad; I’d like to see how the Water tower would kill him in a way the Bastard Tower couldn’t. 😂

Also his relative helplessness as people he has promised to protect were very close to being decimated. I agree that the trauma is probably what pushed it to “starting tomorrow,” but just not being able to walk into the village and end things is going to worry Ben with the third wave coming…

Oh. I didn't even think about this being the push ben receives to do those things he has been hinting at for more power. Being beheaded in front of people you care about and SEEING it through their eyes and hearing their emotions and thoughts is one heck of a push.

That's actually the biggest oversight in the novel, if you ask me. He is THE best guy when it comes to crafting insane gear for himself, heck he even created some for other third tiers. At the very least he should craft himself some over the top enchanted defensive gear, just in case.

The last chapter mentioned leaving a wide space open (around when he was building the churches), so I wouldn't be surprised if he & Thera take the mini-gate to the old village and he has Thera just snag all the land with the trees on it, lift it up, and fly it to Stonewall.

Is Ben finally going to train up his Defensive Skills? He is a perfect fit for a tank and can train skills through his clones so why not just make a few more and have them killed off repeatedly.

I hope he finally tries sure up his more combat oriented abilities. Sure he he’s a craftsman but materialization and actualization have the potential to do some really crazy stuff if used right. But also I really hope he starts to make some truly dastardly weapons. We haven’t had an actually equipment upgrade for Ben since what putting souls in the jacket? Has there been anything besides that?
