After opening the survey, many of you asked me about my experience in Canada. So I thought of writing a few lines while we wait for Stefano to finish the game, consider it as a sort of light entertainment.
Before I begin, though, I would like to make a small disclaimer. During my stay in Canada, I had amazing and sometimes unexpected experiences. I have no regrets or disappointments, but I have simply expanded my perspective on life. So please don't take everything too seriously. I understand if it's not to your liking, but it's part of my life journey, both the positive and negative moments.
Now I can start. My name is 👩🏽 Amanda K., I'm thirty-two years old, but my story begins when I was twenty-four. From Italy to Canada: 🇮🇹🇨🇦 It was a thoughtful decision motivated by various factors: a complicated relationship, unstable job... Well, why not? Why not try to change my life?
I departed from Malpensa one Monday morning. My mother was crying profusely, my father struggled to hold back his tears. After overcoming the initial obstacles, the check-in went smoothly as butter. Before turning off my phone, I sent a message to my friend, whom I affectionately call Luana.
Amanda's message: Check-in passed, ready for a new life...

Canada is an amazing place that fascinated me from the moment I set foot on Canadian soil. As soon as I landed, it felt like living in a new dimension. Have you ever played Second Life? Well, it felt like being inside that game, with the difference that you couldn't teleport from one place to another.

When you're a tourist, everything seems fantastic. You wake up whenever you want, visit many new places. But I didn't go to Canada for that feeling. I wanted to find a new life.
One evening, Luana introduced me to a guy whom I'll call Benjamin in this story.
Benjamin was a charming man, with an athletic physique, blue eyes, and red hair... no, just kidding, he was an African American man, but he had an amazing physique. We immediately liked each other, and that same evening, the sparks of love ignited.
The days passed quickly, and I was getting more and more settled. I had many plans, but nothing concrete yet. Then one day, I came home and saw Luana crying.

👳🏻Luana, crying like crazy, told me that she had to go back to India.
I didn't quite understand the reasons because she was speaking while crying, a mix of English and Hindi.

My beloved Benjamin, with the help of his friends, found me a place with a Canadian family. In exchange for accommodation and some money to cover the main expenses, I was supposed to take care of two beautiful and sweet children, whom I still hold dear in my heart.

Goodbye tourist fun, the hard work begins. Actually, I was enjoying myself, the two children filled me with pride. I washed, ironed, and prepared breakfast. I even remember making pizza once. It was a complete disaster, ahahahah.
Am I mistaken or am I portraying myself as a poor Cinderella? All work and home? NOOO, definitely not, I had my beloved Benjamin.
One evening, Benjamin invited me to a party. I got all dressed up, you know, high heels, a short dress. I also remember Sandra helping me with my makeup.

I remember dancing like crazy that night, sticking close to Liam, a friend of Benjamin. Liam was a handsome guy, our eyes kept meeting, and every time they did, we burst into laughter... I was 24, guys, I don't want to come across as a slut or a saint, but that night, Liam and I spent the rest of the evening on the Honda Civic... From how possessed I was that night, I even broke the plastic of the dashboard with my heels.

Prima di iniziare, però, vorrei fare una piccola premessa. Durante il mio soggiorno in Canada, ho vissuto esperienze sorprendenti e talvolta anche inaspettate. Non ho rimpianti né delusioni, ma ho semplicemente ampliato la mia prospettiva di vita. Quindi, non prendete tutto ciò troppo seriamente. Posso capire se non è di vostro gradimento, ma fa parte del mio percorso di vita, sia nei momenti positivi che in quelli negativi.

Fu una decisione ponderata, motivata da vari fattori: una relazione complicata, un lavoro precario... insomma, perché no? Perché non provare a cambiare vita?
Partii da Malpensa una mattina di lunedì. Mia madre piangeva copiosamente, mio padre faceva fatica a trattenere le lacrime. Superati i primi ostacoli, il check-in andò liscio come l'olio. Prima di spegnere il telefono, inviai un messaggio alla mia amica, a cui simpaticamente chiamo Luana.
Messaggio di Amanda: Check-in superato, pronta per una nuova vita...

Il Canada è un posto fantastico che mi ha affascinato fin dal momento in cui ho messo piede sul suolo canadese. Appena atterrata, sembrava di vivere in una nuova dimensione. Avete mai giocato a Second Life? Beh, sembrava proprio di essere dentro a quel gioco, con la differenza che qui non potevi teletrasportarti da un luogo all'altro.

Quando si è turisti, tutto sembra fantastico. Ci si alza alla mattina quando si vuole, si visitano tanti posti nuovi.
Ma io non ero andata in Canada per quella sensazione. Volevo trovare una nuova vita.
Una sera, Luana mi presenta un ragazzo che chiamerò Benjamin in questa storia.
Benjamin era un uomo affascinante, con un fisico atletico, occhi azzurri e capelli rossi... no, scherzo, era un uomo afroamericano, ma aveva un fisico da urlo. Ci piacemmo immediatamente e quella stessa sera scoccò la scintilla dell'amore .
I giorni passavano veloci e io mi stavo sempre più ambientando. Avevo tanti progetti, ma ancora nulla di concreto. Poi un giorno torno a casa e vedo Luana piangere.
👳🏻Luana: SIGH... SIGH...
👩🏽Amanda: Luana, cosa ti succede?
👳🏻Luana, piangendo come una pazza, mi dice che deve tornare in India. Non avevo ben capito le motivazioni, poiché parlava piangendo, un misto di inglese e hindi.
Le cose stavano diventando complicate anche per me... Addio Canada, addio nuova vita... Ma fortunatamente non è andata così. Il mio adorato Benjamin, con l'aiuto dei suoi amici, mi trovò una sistemazione presso una famiglia canadese. In cambio di alloggio e di qualche dollaro per coprire le spese principali, avrei dovuto prendere cura di due bellissimi e dolcissimi bambini, che ancora oggi porto nel mio cuore.
A questo punto del mio racconto, darò dei nomi alle persone che ho conosciuto, sostituendo i punti con i loro veri nomi.
👩🏼Sandra: "Quindi vieni dall'Italia? Wow, l'Italia è bellissima. Ci sono stata molti anni fa..."
Ricordo che Sandra parlava, parlava... insomma, non smetteva mai.
👩🏼Sandra: "Questo è il locale lavanderia, e lì in fondo ci sono le scale per lo scantinato."
Un'altra cosa che ricordo molto bene è come era fatta quella casa.
Addio divertimento da turista, inizia il duro lavoro. In realtà, mi divertivo, i due bambini mi riempivano di orgoglio. Lavavo, stiravo e preparavo la colazione. Ricordo perfino di aver fatto la pizza una volta. È stato un vero disastro, ahahahah.
Sbaglio oppure mi sto dipingendo come la povere Cenerentola? Tutto lavoro e casa? NOOO, certo che no, io avevo il mio adorato Benjamin.
Una sera Benjamin mi invita ad una festa.
Mi preparo alla grande, sapete, tacchi alti, vestito corto. Ricordo anche che Sandra mi aiutò con il make-up.
👩🏼SANDRA: WOW Amanda sei fantastica.
👩🏽AMANDA: Grazie.
Si aveva proprio ragione, ero fantastica quella sera, anzi una vera bomba sexy.
Sandra in quel periodo era molto vicina a me, continuava a farmi regali, sorrisi, non che mi desse fastidio, anzi! Ma la cosa mi sembrava molto strana.
Quella sera stessa Benjamin mi viene a prendere con la sua nuovissima 🚗Honda Civic, in realtà l'aveva comprata da un suo amico e aveva tutta la fiancata distrutta.
Ma lui continuava a dire che era bellissima "Non vedi tesoro, ha perfino i cerchioni in lega" continuava a ripetermi.

👩🏽Amanda: Benjamin, non dirmi che ti sei già ubriacato?

Beh, devo dire che se pur aveva la fiancata distrutta, correva la Honda Civic...
Quella sera ci divertimmo un sacco. Benjamin mi portò in un locale dove delle band sconosciute suonavano dal vivo...

Mischiare vino con alcol puro è un vero suicidio... Ti sballa ai massimi ma poi ti distrugge il giorno dopo.
Quella sera il tavolo era pieno di bicchieri e altrettante erano le bottiglie di vino e di alcol.
Dopo un paio di ore il mio amato Benjamin era completamente distrutto e si addormentò sul divano del locale.
Io invece ero ancora attiva e carica come una batteria appena comprata.
Ricordo che quella sera ballavo come una pazza, ero incollata a Liam, un amico di Benjamin.
Liam era un bel ragazzo, i nostri occhi continuavano a incrociarsi e ogni volta che lo facevano scoppiavamo a ridere...
Avevo 24 anni, ragazzi, non voglio passare per una zoccola e né tanto meno per una santa, ma quella sera io e Liam passammo il resto della serata sulla Honda Civic...
Da come ero posseduta quella sera avevo persino sfondato la plastica del cruscotto con i miei tacchi.

Los días pasaban rápidamente y yo me estaba adaptando cada vez más. Tenía muchos planes, pero aún nada concreto. Luego, un día vuelvo a casa y veo a Luana llorando.

Las cosas también se estaban complicando para mí... Adiós Canadá, adiós nueva vida... Pero afortunadamente no fue así. Mi adorado Benjamin, con la ayuda de sus amigos, me encontró un lugar en una familia canadiense. A cambio de alojamiento y algunos dólares para cubrir los gastos principales, tendría que cuidar a dos hermosos y adorables niños, que aún guardo en mi corazón.

👩🏼Sandra: "Este es el cuarto de lavado y allí al final están las escaleras hacia el sótano." Otra cosa que recuerdo muy bien es cómo era esa casa.
Adiós diversión de turista, comienza el trabajo duro. En realidad, me divertía, los dos niños me llenaban de orgullo. Lavaba, planchaba y preparaba el desayuno. Incluso recuerdo haber hecho pizza una vez. Fue un desastre total, ahahahah.
¿Me equivoco o me estoy retratando como la pobre Cenicienta? ¿Todo trabajo y casa? ¡NO, por supuesto que no, tenía a mi adorado Benjamin!
Una noche, Benjamin me invita a una fiesta. Me preparo a lo grande, ya saben, tacones altos, vestido corto. También recuerdo que Sandra me ayudó con el maquillaje.

Llegamos a la fiesta y la música estaba a todo volumen. Bailamos, reímos, nos divertimos mucho. Era la típica fiesta en la que todos conocían a todos y nadie me conocía a mí.
Alrededor de las tres de la madrugada, Benjamin se acerca a mí y me dice: 👨🏽Benjamin: Cariño, tengo que ir al baño, vuelvo enseguida. 👩🏽Amanda: Está bien, no tardes mucho.

Ich traf Benjamin in Kanada. Er war ein indisch-kanadischer Mann mit einem charmanten Lächeln. Er war nicht besonders groß, aber er hatte eine beneidenswerte Figur. Wir mochten uns sofort und in dieser Nacht entstand die Liebesfunke.
Die Tage vergingen schnell und ich gewöhnte mich immer mehr ein. Ich hatte viele Pläne, aber noch nichts Konkretes. Dann eines Tages kam ich nach Hause und sah Luana weinen.
👳🏻Luana: SEUFZ... SEUFZ... 👩🏽Amanda: Luana, was ist los? 👳🏻Luana, weinend wie verrückt, erzählte mir, dass sie nach Indien zurückkehren müsse. Ich verstand die Gründe nicht gut, weil sie weinend sprach, eine Mischung aus Englisch und Hindi.
Die Dinge wurden auch für mich kompliziert... Auf Wiedersehen Kanada, auf Wiedersehen neues Leben... Aber zum Glück war es nicht so. Mein geliebter Benjamin fand mit Hilfe seiner Freunde eine Unterkunft bei einer kanadischen Familie für mich. Im Gegenzug für Unterkunft und einige Dollar, um die Hauptkosten zu decken, sollte ich auf zwei wunderschöne und liebenswerte Kinder aufpassen, die ich immer in meinem Herzen behalten werde.
In diesem Teil meiner Erzählung werde ich den Personen, die ich traf, Namen geben und die Punkte durch ihre echten Namen ersetzen.
👩🏼Sandra: "Also kommst du aus Italien? Wow, Italien ist wunderschön. Ich war vor vielen Jahren dort..." Ich erinnere mich, dass Sandra redete, redete... nun ja, sie hörte nie auf.
👩🏼Sandra: "Das ist der Waschraum und dort hinten sind die Treppen zum Keller." Eine Sache, die ich sehr gut erinnere, ist, wie das Haus aussah.
Auf Wiedersehen Spaß als Touristin, jetzt beginnt harte Arbeit. Eigentlich hatte ich Spaß, die beiden Kinder erfüllten mich mit Stolz. Ich wusch, bügelte und bereitete das Frühstück vor. Ich erinnere mich sogar daran, dass ich einmal Pizza gemacht habe. Es war eine totale Katastrophe, ahahahah.
Irritiere ich mich oder stelle ich mich wie Aschenputtel dar? Nur Arbeit und Haus? NEIN, natürlich nicht, ich hatte meinen geliebten Benjamin!
Eines Abends lud Benjamin mich zu einer Party ein. Ich machte mich großartig zurecht, ihr wisst schon, hohe Absätze, kurzes Kleid. Ich erinnere mich auch daran, dass Sandra mir bei meinem Make-up half.
👩🏼SANDRA: WOW, Amanda, du siehst fantastisch aus. 👩🏽AMANDA: Danke. Sie hatte völlig recht, an diesem Abend sah ich unglaublich aus, sogar wie eine echte Sexbombe. Sandra war in dieser Zeit sehr nah bei mir, sie schenkte mir immer wieder Geschenke, lächelte mich an, nicht dass es mich gestört hätte, im Gegenteil. Aber es schien mir sehr merkwürdig.
In dieser Nacht kam Benjamin in seinem nagelneuen 🚗Honda Civic, obwohl er sie von einem Freund gekauft hatte und sie an der Seite komplett beschädigt war. Aber er sagte immer wieder, wie wunderschön sie sei, "Siehst du, Liebes, sie hat sogar Leichtmetallfelgen", sagte er immer wieder. Ok, du bist zufrieden!!!
👨🏽Benjamin: Endlich bist du da... 👩🏽Amanda: Benjamin, sag mir nicht, dass du schon betrunken bist? Nein, sagte er, während er taumelte. 👩🏽Amanda: Gib mir die Schlüssel, ich fahre...
Nun, ich muss sagen, dass der Honda Civic trotz der beschädigten Seite schnell fuhr...
An diesem Abend hatten wir eine Menge Spaß. Benjamin brachte mich zu einer Bar, in der unbekannte Bands live spielten...
👨🏽Benjamin: Kellner, noch eine Flasche... Mischen von Wein und reinem Alkohol ist Selbstmord... Es macht dich extrem betrunken, aber dann zerstört es dich am nächsten Tag. An diesem Abend war der Tisch voller Gläser und genauso viele Flaschen Wein und Alkohol.
Nach ein paar Stunden war mein geliebter Benjamin völlig fertig und schlief auf dem Sofa des Lokals ein. Ich dagegen war immer noch aktiv und voller Energie wie eine frisch gekaufte Batterie. Ich erinnere mich, dass ich in dieser Nacht wie verrückt tanzte, ich klebte förmlich an Liam, einem Freund von Benjamin. Liam war ein gutaussehender Typ, unsere Blicke trafen sich immer wieder und jedes Mal brachen wir in Gelächter aus...
