WHAT I HAVE BEEN UP TO
Well, since last year, I've decided that I'm just not satisfied with the state of the game; as I get better as a game dev in general, it's hard to look back at the assets, code and writing for the game and feel okay with it.
As you already know, I've been mostly remaking art in the regular updates and I even overhauled the game's code one time... turns out, that is nowhere near enough, I still feel like the gap between is to wide to not do anything about it.
So, what I decided to do is just remake the whole game in RPGM MZ, almost from scratch; of course, the plot, characters and core mechanics will still be the same, but most of the art the wasn't remade already will be; of course, I'm adding a lot more art, specially to the story events, since there is where I feel that is more lacking.
Even so, I don't think my plans have changed that much from when I wrote THIS post, so maybe check it out if you don't want to wait until next news.
I'll refrain from disclosing too much info, since I'll make dedicated posts for the art, new mechanics, the new UI, etc. This one is mostly a general overview on my plans and what is going to happen from now on.
ABOUT 0.12 AND PATREON BENEFITS
Now, a little sadder news: Around last week, I lost almost 2 months of progress on the MZ project, and I've dedicated a lot of time into rebuilding it; it's going well, around 80% of the things are working again and even though I may have to scrap a few things that were lost, nothing too big.
That being said... you probably can guess why I'll have to delay 0.12 until either late December or January; honestly, I'd like to give you guys that to play before dedicating fully to the Anniversary Update.
And on that note: I'll be pausing everything else, from now on I'll just be posting news about the big update, talking in detail about the QoL changes, new additions and other cool stuff. Of course, I still plan to get 0.12 done soon-ish, I'll be also posting some random drawings I may do every now and then.
Please understand that this is because I really can't distract myself at this moment if I want to get the update to be as good as I picture it, so far the progress hasn't been as expected, so I want to focus on it more.
WHY I AM DOING THIS
In case it's not clear yet: I want the game to be as good as it possibly can be, I've grown attached to the project way more than I expected since I first started and honestly, I don't really like the current state of the game, and just trying to do it by little bits and patches has proven to be useless, so I'll just start "from scratch".
Even though I don't really consider myself a perfectionist, I think everyone can see the improvement I've had over these almost 3 years, and as I've become better the quality standards I had have changed, having most of my previous work unable to meet them.
And before someone can wonder, no, I don't really think the new art made for the 3rd Anniversary Update will be remade in the future, this because it stands its ground pretty well, even if I became better.
A way to think of it would be: When I started I could produce around 3-4/10, now I can produce around 6/10 consistently; so even if I get to a 7 or 8, a 6 is still pleasant to see and can stay there without much trouble.
WHAT'S NEXT
Now, I don't want to make this post any longer so here's the thing, I'll try to make at least 5 posts each month:

I hope that's enough to keep the hype since, aside from 0.12, there won't be any playable updates, I am really sorry about that but I'm sure you understand why.
