Dev Build - Life's a Beach
🕑 Added 2023-08-17 17:30:51 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Sorry it's been longer than I anticipated for this build. I intended to quickly release a smaller update with additional character customization options that didn't make it into the Well Rounded Diet build, but life threw some curve balls at me which has caused some delays. Much of my time was spent dealing with crunch and working overtime at one of the studios I do contract work for. On top of that, my apartment flooded which caused a lot of damage and distress.
Thankfully, things are mostly back to normal now, but because of these delays I wanted to make this build a bit more substantial than simply adding a few new clothing options. So I quickly spruced up an old test map of a beach you may recall from early footage of this project.
I also added the customization options I intended to have in the last build including some new eyes, glasses and outfits. Also hair styles can now be flipped if you ever want to change what side the hair parts on. Additionally, I added the ability to run while in skinny mode so you can traverse these larger maps a bit faster. Just hold the shift key while skinny to do so. A few bugs should be fixed now too, including a very strange one where the round body would occasionally spawn some distance away from the character's position when switching bodies.

For now you'll have to restart the game, but I'll try to add a weight reset button in the next update.

After the weight gain from eating, is there a way to reset her size? Or is existing the game and going back in the only way?

Thanks for your support and I'm glad you're enjoying it! I plan to add more clothes options including the ones from Valentines day. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to handle big bellies with this newer physics plugin I'm using, but the big belly will return eventually.

I know you had mentioned the transformation from skinny to blob isn't simple to work on cos of technical restraints, but what if you did some limited sized expansion work for the skinny version instead as an in-between for now?

I really wanted to leave a comment and just say... you are doing amazing! This sandbox-y style game you're working on is by far the best in the realm of WG/Expansion both graphically and technically. It's always exciting to see to log on to see if a new update has dropped no matter the size! We appreciate you have a life outside of this project, what you have done so far is awesome and I can't wait to see how this progresses further <3

Looks like it's just an issue with Unity not recognizing my monitors specs. I have no idea how to fix this. What I can see looks great though

You can try pressing Alt + Enter to toggle between fullscreen and windowed mode.

Hey dumb issue, is there a way to run this in windowed mode? I'm having an issue with resolution and can't see half of the screen.

It's really a software limit. The physics simulation software I use is not designed to handle growth so I have to do it in a really hacky way that can only go so far before breaking. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter how good the hardware is, it will always break past a certain point.

I'll ask the same thing I did in the previous dev build. Is there a reason for it to being a cap on how big the PC can get, or is it a choice based on hardware capabilities (my laptop runs it at 144 fps since that's how much my refresh rate)

Yeap the crunch is over for now at least. I definitely plan on having different pupil options and possibly eye sizes as well.

Hopefully the crunch time is over at least. Still a fun update and so glad the original beach map is back as well! The new eye shapes did make me wonder if you'd ever make a slider for pupil size or even eye size.
