Nekojishi: Lin & Partners Project Update - February 2024
🕑 Added 2024-03-01 02:30:38 +0000 UTC
Hi Patrons,
With the Lunar New Year behind us, we wanted to give everyone a quick update on some things that we've been working on over the past few months!
- Six new music tracks have been completed.
- A new CG illustration has been completed. (a sneak peek in the image above!)
- Progress on Debate/battle gameplay.
- Concept art and game design progress.
- Environment asset production.
With that said, we also wanted to share one of the gameplay concepts we've been working on.
Garden Gameplay Concept
Gardens are spiritual places within your character that allow you to enhance the power of each card type during Debates. Players must collect and place furniture pieces in harmonious arrangements to affect their statistics and deck composition.
As the player progresses throughout the game, they encounter new Gardens, each one containing different room layouts and designs based on locations in the story.
Above is the concept art for one of the Garden environments which has also served as our base for designing the gameplay systems.
When creating the in-game assets we had to ensure every piece is modular and fits a grid to allow both the shape of the floor and the positions of each object to be manipulated.
While the nature of Gardens may change in the final game— the goal of the mechanic is to connect the actions of the player with the characters in the story, and their growth in Debates. We hope that players will also enjoy spending time crafting these little spaces throughout their adventure!
Thanks for all your support!

Woaaa this is new, watching the game get extra features to add extra (replay) value that affects the main-game progress will make it fun, but the pretty presentation is the icing on the cake! Thank you for the love to the project ❤️
