Chapter 533: The New Leader of the New Continent Council

He tossed a golden ring, summoning a colossal warship from the sky. The ship's landing caused an earth-shattering impact, shaking even the nearby port city of Doviliat, toppling countless buildings.
The Radiant Holy Kingdom warship landed firmly on the mountain, pinning down the Flame Evil God's avatar, which let out a prolonged, agonized howl. The protruding hand was bitten by an unseen force and was being violently dragged outward. Simultaneously, a mysterious power invaded, manifesting numerous fiery, demonic eyes across its body.
Within a mere ten minutes, the avatar of the Flame Evil God was torn apart by several mysterious forces, and the once-turbulent mountain peak fell silent.
Even Charlot was startled, thinking to himself, "The last time I encountered an avatar of the Flame Evil God, it wasn't this weak. How did this one get destroyed so easily in just one encounter?"
The Radiant Holy Kingdom warship had accompanied Charlot on his expedition to the Aggras Sea, consuming various entities along the way, including remnants of Evil Gods. This had awakened the divine characteristics of its five entities to varying degrees, significantly enhancing its power.
The Flame Evil God's true form remained in the New Continent, embroiled in the chaotic war among Evil Gods. This had weakened its strength, which led to the one-sided nature of this battle.
Hovering in the sky, Charlot gazed down at the port of Doviliat and declared in a booming voice, "I am Duke Mecklenburg! You have invaded my territory, and your crimes are unforgivable. However, if you surrender, I am willing to grant you the chance to become my subjects! My reputation for ensuring peace and prosperity among my people is renowned across the continent. I impose no taxes, encourage trade, and provide free land and housing..."
Behind Charlot stood the recently subdued mountain peak. Atop it rested the ominous warship, exuding chaotic energy and broadcasting an oppressive hum that swept across the entire port city like a mental invasion.
Purely from a visual perspective, Charlot resembled a malevolent overlord descending upon the mortal world, intent on bringing ruin.
Despite the alluring promises Charlot proclaimed, the immigrants of the New Continent in Doviliat Port remained skeptical. They feared that surrendering might mean being sacrificed to the Evil Gods.
Rovereto, however, was more pragmatic. He was aware that Charlot had absorbed and resettled the immigrants from Black Phoenix City, treating them fairly. The confiscation of all their wealth had been a reasonable punishment, given that they had nearly overtaken the Mecklenburg Duchy.
His greatest reliance had been his ability to summon the Flame Evil God Anururu. Yet Charlot had suppressed the god’s avatar with ease. Rovereto understood that without this advantage, Doviliat Port would not hold out for long.
Rovereto had returned to the New Continent seeking stability and prosperity, not further conflict. The battles he had endured there were already more than enough.
Faced with Charlot's demands, Rovereto hesitated, then floated into the air and said, "We only wish to live in peace."
Charlot retorted sharply, "You are occupying my land."
Rovereto replied solemnly, "We can pay for it."
Charlot sneered. "Surrender or die—choose. I have no time to argue. The Mecklenburg Duchy is my fiefdom, and I will not tolerate anyone encroaching upon it."
As Rovereto struggled to respond, Charlot raised his arm, and the Radiant Holy Kingdom warship transformed back into a golden ring. It hovered above Charlot’s head, ready to be unleashed once more. Rovereto understood that if he continued to resist, Charlot would unleash the legendary warship upon Doviliat Port, resulting in catastrophic destruction.
With a heavy sigh, Rovereto declared, "We are willing to surrender."
Charlot extended his hand to reclaim the golden ring and gave a command. His land and sea forces advanced immediately, compelling Rovereto to reluctantly open the port and city gates, allowing the West Wind Knights to enter.
Charlot took control of Doviliat Port, assigning Rovereto to lead a group of immigrants to settle in the Moldova Duchy. Without an effective way to restrain this Saint of the New Continent, Charlot opted to send him far from the battlefield. Moreover, Moldova truly required a powerful Saint to maintain order.
The mountainous terrain of Moldova was ideal for someone like Rovereto, who could channel the power of the Flame Evil God Anururu to transform ordinary hills into volcanoes.
Charlot transformed the port city into a labyrinth, relocating more than 30% of its residents. He transferred the immigrants to Sedona City and other regions, leaving only a manageable number behind. This strategy prevented the formation of insular communities that could threaten his authority.
The key to assimilation was uniform language, shared identity, and cultural integration, which Charlot accelerated by encouraging population mobility.
Charlot’s capture of Doviliat Port caused the New Continent immigrants in Limate to flee in panic, allowing him to reclaim the Abruzzo region without resistance.
Charlot wasted no time. He ordered Argon and Andreas to continue their advance inland while personally leading the fleet to Arcadia Port.
As his fleet approached Arcadia Port, Charlot hesitated. Before him lay a vast array of ships, outnumbering even the armada outside Black Phoenix City. Among them were warships resembling sea monsters, rivaling the Radiant Holy Kingdom and the Emilia.
Even after gathering all his vessels, Charlot’s fleet was still outmatched. The two forces faced off at sea, each mustering over half their strength.
Avish, standing on the New Continent’s flagship, glared at Charlot’s fleet with hatred. Bowing to the burly man beside him, he said, "That is Duke Mecklenburg."
Though Avish remained the Speaker of the New Continent Council, he was no longer its leader.
