Nothing was controversial about Dany killing the opposing army's top generals who straight up told her "we will never accept you as queen" , that means that if she lets them free, they will try to kill her again. Don't fall for the propaganda that the show tries to do with Dany just so that you "morally question her" , she literally does what she needs to do every step of the way
