“GRAAAAHHHH!”
While the Heavenly Empress and her son struggled, the Fifth Demon King and the rest of Anna’s Demons continued fighting Lucifer—or trying to get close to him—as they battled Demonic Beasts as well.
“Lucifer! Is this what you truly are? A damned maniac?!” Astaroth asked angrily, swinging his draconic claws and tearing apart a three-headed, tiger-like demonic beast.
“Why are you pushing yourself this far?!” Aim roared, unleashing a storm of lightning against giant, chimera-type demonic beasts.
“This is ridiculous! There’s no need to do this. You’re only going to tire yourself out eventually!” Bael roared angrily, cutting several bat-like demonic beasts with his swords.
“You’ve gone mad with power!” Agares said, rushing forward and impaling a blazing, lion-like demonic beast with his sword.
“FUCKING NUTJOB, CRAH!” Neberius cried, attacking multiple demonic beasts at once with his feathers, which sliced like sharp demonic blades.
Even the other Demons agreed that Lucifer had gone too far, all because he was driven by revenge and the shattering of his sense of superiority.
Every time he pushed himself this far, he humiliated himself, looking less and less graceful and more like a mindless monster.
It wasn’t the appearance a King the Demons would worship should have!
“SHUT UP! WHAT DO YOU EVEN KNOW, DAMN TRAITORS?! I WANTED YOU ALL AS MY PETS, BUT YOU’RE BETTER OFF BURNING TO ASHES AND FEEDING MY MUCH LOYALER PETS!”
Lucifer laughed as the Demonic Beasts attacked the Demons furiously, opening their jaws, unleashing breath attacks, and biting them constantly. The Demons were covered in blood, struggling until the last moment.
The power they’d gained from defeating and absorbing Beelzebub was immense and had helped them reach a new Realm altogether, but now, it was beginning to feel like it wasn’t enough.
CRAAASH!
As Astaroth pierced the chest of another monster with his claws, he saw the wolf-like demonic beast… cry. Its eyes were weeping as it groaned.
“G-GRAAAGH…! S-SAVE… GRAA… MAS… TER… AS… TAROTH… SAVE…!”
“H-Huh?!”
Astaroth’s eyes widened as he felt the presence of a demon inside the monster.
No…
Rather…
“Y-YOU FUCKING… BASTARD…! YOU…! WHAT DID YOU DO TO THESE DEMONS?!”
He roared with anger and fury, realizing these monstrous, savage, and unintelligent demonic beasts were, in fact, demons—people!
“HAH?!”
“WHAT?!”
“N-NO…!”
“IT CAN’T BE?!”
The other Demons looked at Astaroth in disbelief, but deep down, some of them had already begun to think about these Demonic Beasts and how they acted felt strange!
“HAH… HAHAHAHA! SO YOU FOUND OUT, HUH?! NOTHING CAN ESCAPE THE EYES OF ASTAROTH THE DEMONIC DRAGON! HAHAHAHAHA!”
Lucifer laughed with all his monstrous heads as the Demons glared at him with even more anger.
In fact, they had never felt this furious before!
“THESE LOYAL PETS WERE ALL THE DEMONS THAT DIDN’T WANT TO JOIN ME! WHEN I VISITED THEIR HELL, DO YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAID?! THEY DIDN’T WANT TO FIGHT OR DIE FOR ME! HAHAHA! PREPOSTEROUS!”
As Lucifer laughed, speaking so loudly that the demons’ ears started bleeding from his cursed words, he looked at his beasts, which approached him, licking his body.
“SO I FED THEM MY BLOOD. AND LOOK WHAT THEY TURNED INTO! SUCH OBEDIENT, ADORABLE, CUTE PETS! I LOVE THEM NOW! AND THEY LOVE ME TOO! THEY LOVE ME SO MUCH THEY WOULD DIE FOR ME NOW! ISN’T THAT BEAUTIFUL?! THIS IS… TRUE LOVE!”
“True love my ass, you fucking retard! You’re batshit insane! I’m going to tear your ass apart with my bloody claws!”
RUMBLE!
Astaroth went completely mad with fury, his body suddenly growing to its maximum size, resembling the appearance he’d had when he invaded Stronghold City.
“RAAAAAHHHH!!!”
He roared, rushing toward Lucifer while kicking and clawing away the other demonic beasts, trying not to kill them, though his brutish anger probably did anyway.
“Wait, Astaroth, don’t be reckless!” Agares roared, trying to stop him.
“YES, COME TO ME, MY ADORABLE PET!”
Lucifer laughed, opening his jaws and catching Astaroth, biting the back of his body!
CRUNCH!
“UNNGH?!”
Astaroth vomited blood, completely caught off guard by Lucifer’s immense speed. He quickly opened his jaws, firing a deadly breath attack.
BOOOM!
“PATHETIC!”
Lucifer laughed it off as he began punching Astaroth’s face and body constantly with the massive, muscular, and monstrous arms sprouting across his aberrant form.
BAAAM!
“See now?!”
BAAAM!
“This is why you shouldn’t oppose your KING!”
BAAAM!
“Do you understand, Astaroth?!”
BAAAM!
Lucifer kept punching Astaroth’s body, especially his large head and face, making him vomit blood while his eyes bled as well, looking swollen. Over half of his teeth were already gone, and he was having difficulty breathing.
“Haaahh… Haaahh… Haaah…!”
Astaroth gasped for air as more punches rained down upon his face, his scales, eyes, and fangs splattering everywhere.
BAAM! BAAM! BAAM! BAAM!
“AAAGGH…!”
As the dragon screamed in agony, his friends tried to reach him but were constantly stopped by the Demonic Beasts.
“ASTAROTH!” Aim screamed, Astaroth’s closest friend.
“Let him go, you fucking bastard, CRAH!” Neberius roared angrily.
“I told you not to charge recklessly, dammit!” Agares said, trying to get through dozens of demonic beasts.
“T-This is hopeless!” Bael muttered, his eyes beginning to lose their light as he started to fall into despair.
“Now, tell me, Astaroth…”
Lucifer looked at Astaroth with a mocking smile on his many heads.
“Will you be a good pet and kneel before me?”
“…”
Astaroth could barely look at Lucifer, and yet…
The dragon spat on one of his many faces.
“HUH…?!”
“Fuck off… I would rather die than serve a fucking nutjob like you, who doesn’t even see demons as people… If you can’t even… care about us… why do you even think you can rule us?!”
“YOU’RE DEAD.”
Lucifer’s jaws opened, about to devour Astaroth and tear him apart. Anna’s skill would not work if Astaroth’s soul was torn to shreds alongside his body!
“NOOOOO!”
Aim tried to pierce through the demonic beasts, lightning erupting everywhere.
He moved as fast as he could!
And yet…
He couldn’t reach him…
Astaroth glanced at Aim with his swollen face, smiling, as Lucifer’s jaws were already biting his body.
“Protect… our people… Aim.”
A second from being torn apart…
Aim’s eyes shone brightly.
Memories of his friendship with Astaroth flashed through his mind.
He could still recall a desolate landscape.
Flames everywhere, a dark sky.
The corpses of countless demons scattered everywhere.
Aim sniffed the surroundings with his leopard nose. The desolate landscape had become an early grave for hundreds of demon soldiers.
“Is there even someone alive in here?”
As he walked through this place, he noticed there was someone.
“A-Ah…!”
His eyes widened as he saw him.
An enormous, overwhelming presence.
Perhaps the one who had slaughtered this Demonic Legion on his own.
A giant dragon.
“You’re…”
“…”
The Dragon looked back at Aim, his sharp, crimson eyes shining brightly.
“You bastard…! You killed everyone…!”
“Yes, I did…”
“…?”
Aim’s eyebrows raised. He felt something was odd about this monster.
This demon or dragon, whatever he was…
His voice didn’t sound full of pride. He wasn’t happy.
No, he seemed deeply sad.
“Are you part of Lucifer’s forces?”
“I… am… I think.”
“…”
Spark, spark…!
Sparkles of lightning thundered through Aim’s body as he prepared to fight.
“We don’t obey him as our King around here…”
“I know…”
“…”
Aim couldn’t help but feel strange about this demon.
“You… don’t want to fight? You’re wide open! I can kill you right now!”
“Knock yourself out… Do it.”
“What?”
“I…”
The dragon looked at the sea of blood, his eyes filled with despair.
“I’m tired of everything…”
“…”
“Kill me…”
There was silence in the air, in the atmosphere.
Aim couldn’t understand why this demon wanted him to kill him.
“Why don’t you fight?!”
“I don’t want to fight anymore… not like this, not for this cause… I might look like a beast to you, but I’m a demon as well. Sure, send me to another world, I’ll do the job, but… this? To my fellow demons? This… this isn’t right… Why am I even doing this?! I… I thought Lord Lucifer was… not like this… that he loved us…”
“Lucifer?! Love us?! He’s a wicked bastard! See what he made you do?! You were just another of his pets! Like Beelzebub, Leviathan, Belphegor, and all those fuckers!”
“I swore to my clan that I would fight for us demons… that I would open the way to a future where we wouldn’t have to starve, where we wouldn’t have to see the eggs of our children never hatch because they didn’t have enough nutrients…”
“…”
“And now I’m killing… the people I swore to protect… This is wrong… I… Kill me… please, just end me!”
As the dragon cried, Aim remained silent, looking at him.
He was judging his character, his spirit.
“No.”
“What?!”
The dragon glared at the leopard, furious.
“Why won’t you take me down?! Are you a pussy or something?! Well, you’re a damn cat, I guess…!”
“Shut up. Come with me.”
Aim walked away as the demon stayed there in silence.
“…”
