🕑 Added 2025-11-05 17:00:13 +0000 UTCHere's the full length reaction to Rear Window, the winner of our Alfred Hitchcock poll! This movie took me by surprise! Since the only Hitchcock movie I've seen so far is Psycho, I thought the tone of this movie would be like that one... Boy was I surprised! I wasn't expecting so much humor and charm in this one, and James Stewart and Grace Kelly are so great in this! I've seen James Stewart in It's A Wonderful Life, but I believe this is the first movie I've seen Grace Kelly in. Enjoy!

Yes, Psycho is more of a superior made-for-TV type shocker, not typical of Hitchcock. The style, charm and wit in Rear Window is more prevalent in his other great films like North By Northwest and To Catch A Thief, both of which of course feature the king of style, Cary Grant. Grace Kelly is also in TCAT. Vertigo is rather darker of course, but still a wonderful mystery.
