You could put a stick or something in the ground touching your bumper. Then sit inside so you can get an idea for the distance, Or put a little flag sticking out of the edge of the hood that you can see. It you don’t mind looking weird. Can’t help with parallel parking. My town doesn’t have it. I’d suck at it too.

Maybe it's child safety locks on the rear doors? Open the door and look at the edge of it...
