His large bulky frame had trouble weaving in and out of the crowd of students, but he eventually made it to him. Lucas struggled to let go. If anything, he had more willpower than anyone else as he tried desperately to disobey the command and cling to Jeffrey’s hefty body. “I’ll see you after class,” he called out.

Jeffrey’s face soured. “Cody thought it’d be funny!”
“Uh-huh…” Mr. Duport nodded. “Let’s get to class.”
“Wait! Please,” Jeffrey grabbed onto Mr. Duport’s shoulder.
The teacher let out a sigh. “Tell me something that I don’t know and maybe I’ll change it.”
“Really!?” Jeffrey shouted. “Okay. Well Mitch is going to try to steal it from you. He’s forcing Clint to help him out. There. Now, can you please change me back…”
“I’ll think about it,” Mr. Duport said. “Now it’s time for class.” He led Jeffrey inside and saw Mitch talking to Clint. Mitch gave him a hard punch to the arm, in which Clint rubbed it tenderly. His small frame couldn’t handle something like that. “Alright class,” Mr. Duport addressed them. “I know my previous class didn’t have any of their project done about their future, so how many of you have started?”
A few hands shakily rose. Mr. Duport’s face flattened again. It didn’t matter that he’d been teaching for so many years. Somehow it always astounded him just how little work any of the students ever wanted to do. He brought a hand to his face and shook his head. “Alright… Fine. I’ll give you all a little bit of time and then I want some of you to present it to the class. Okay?”
“Okay!” the rest of the class chanted back to him.
“For the love of…” Mr. Duport tried to ignore his annoyance as 90% of the class pulled out blank sheets of paper and a pencil. He pulled out the Chronivac, ready to see if he could change even that. But the laziness of students tended to know no bounds that even changing all of space and time probably wouldn’t have made a difference.
“Sir?” Clint raised his hand. He at least had a few things written down on his paper. “I have a question.”
“Yes?” Mr. Duport forgot how intimidating his body could be. He towered over the small guy and being seated only made Clint look all the smaller as he tried to look over his teacher’s pectoral shelf.
A series of soft stammers and squeaks came from Clint. Whatever he was about to ask had completely slipped his mind as he shrank back into the desk even more. Mr. Duport realized his problem and tried to lower himself to Clint’s level, but was still slightly above eye level. “What were you wanting to ask about?” Mr. Duport tried to sound friendlier.
“I-I-I,” Clint took a deep breath trying to calm himself down. “I was just wondering how long you wanted it to be. And what if I don’t really know what I want to do after college?”
“That’s something you’ll really need to start thinking about. It’s only a month before you graduate…” Mr. Duport said.
“I know… But--”

Their eyes locked and Mitch took a step back. “Can I help you?”

“I was trying to steal back Cody’s phone. Clint was helping me,” Mitch answered.
He thought the attention would turn back to the other student. As though Mr. Duport should have been surprised that the small mousey student would have gone along with anything that the jock told him to.
“So you’re finished with the assignment?” Mr. Duport ignored the accusation.
“Huh?”
Mr. Duport gave him a huff. In that angry breath of air, Mitch seemed to have realized that his teacher wasn’t playing around. “I asked if you were finished with your assignment.”
“N-no,” Mitch took another step back.
“Really? So you’re going around bossing other students around when you can’t even take care of yourself? Maybe it’d be better if you started to do what they told you instead,” Mr. Duport pulled out the phone.
“N-now… Now hold on just a second,” Mitch backed up again, bumping into a desk.
Mr. Duport went to typing in his phone and then turned to Clint. “I thought you had him on a tighter leash,” he said.
“Only at home,” Clint laughed. Mitch took another step back. Suddenly his neck felt a little constricted as though something was around it. He reached up and grabbed at the red dog collar around his neck.
“Hmm… But I thought you were taking better care of him. You know he still needs to do his homework…” Mr. Duport said.
“I know,” Clint answered. “He must have lied to me last night…”
“Really,” Mr. Duport smirked. “He told you he finished his homework?”
“He did…” Clint said. “Come ‘ere,” he pointed to the ground.
Mitch felt a weird rush run through him. Shame and fear rushed through him as he tried to disobey the order.
