“You had Mark Cook fuck me!” Brandon shouted. He instantly lowered his voice again. Despite being in his dorm room, he was also well aware of how thin the walls really could be. Even just talking at a normal voice, people in the hallway could make out conversations.
Chad shrugged his shoulders. “Was it really that bad?” He saw the blush run up Brandon’s face. The sudden shift got him to start thinking. The anger, it wasn’t the same as most of the guys he’d known growing up. “Was it?” he asked again. His gaseous body floated around Brandon’s body trying to take in more information.
“Yeah!” Brandon choked out. He tried to sound tough but the light crack in his voice gave it away.
“Was it?” Now Chad was curious. The sudden shift wasn’t what he was expecting. He moved closer, breaking the distance between them again.
“Yeah!” Brandon tried to sound more confident as Chad’s face was right in front of his. He tried to call back his mean glare but it wouldn’t come forward. Instead he took a step back. “Of course it was. I’m not gay.”
“Never said you were.”
Brandon’s anger doubled down. He spun around pulling out the glare again. The several feet he now had between him and the ghost gave him the confidence again. “I’m not gay,” he sounded more affirmative about it.
“Never said you were.” Chad repeated. Though the way he smiled, Brandon could tell what he was thinking.
“Good,” he tried not to take the bait.
Chad was far too good for that though. “So why are you so intent on this frat?”
It was a simple question. A question he’d answered when they first met, but now it felt different. “Because… because I want to be able to go to their parties and meet girls.”
“You could join any frat and do that.”
“But it’s not this frat. They have the best parties.”
“Oh please. You go to one, you’ve been to them all. Besides they’re way to ‘masculine’ for you,” Chad put his fingers into bunny quotes, mocking Brandon.
“No they’re not. Besides I’m plenty masculine,” he lifted his thin arms and gives them a flex. The unimpressive bump pushes at his sleeve but there’s barely anything worth talking about. It didn’t stop him from trying to show off but in front of former football stud Chad Castleberry, he wasn’t all that much to look at.
Chad flew around again and gave the bicep a squeeze. “You think?” he mocked. “You’ll be smaller than most of the women. You really think they’ll be all over you?”
“I’ll be in.” Brandon shot back. “That’s the most important part.”
“If you say so…” Chad dismissed. He flew backwards in the air across the room, as though to give in.
“It is!” Brandon defended his decision again.
Chad shrugged. “I guess. But what’s your game plan?”
“Game plan?”
“Yeah man! Game plan. What are you going to do once you get there,” the excitement rose in his voice again. “What? You think you’ll just be there and then a girl’s gonna walk up to you and say, ‘Hey,’ and then you just go to a room and fuck?”
Brandon choked down a heavy lump in his throat. The words, ‘sort of,’ came to mind. “No!” he knew that wasn’t the right answer. “I’ve got my moves.”
“Yeah?” Chad positioned himself with his stomach facing down again. He put his hands under his masculine chin and blinked a few times. A devilish smile crossed his mouth as he continued. “What are they?”
“They’re… They’re… Well I’m going to…” he was stammering, losing the plan that he never concocted in the first place. Honestly, he almost just felt like it would all work out. That all he really had to do was be there and then he could just start talking. But now, even in this controlled and ‘pressureless’ environment, he was tongue tied. Lost in thought of how to even start the conversation. Each part seemed to be lame, uninteresting or just plain boring. “I… I…” he muttered a few more times trying to think of at least some sort of conversation starter.
“That’s what I thought,” Chad kept his smile on as he floated about the room. “The pressure too much for you?”
“No…” Brandon lied.
“Okay tough guy,” Chad had broken the distance between the two again. “How about you practice on me. What do you want to say?”
“I’m not interested in you!” Brandon blushed.
“Never said you were…”
Brandon’s face felt like it was on fire as red covered it. A mixture between embarrassment and anger rushed through his mind. Part of him wanted to scream, the other part wanted to leave. But all in all he knew Chad was right. He didn’t have any material and the fury died down to pure embarrassment. His eyes faltered and dropped to the floor.
“How about I start us off?” Chad proposed. “I’ll pretend to be you and then you pretend to be a girl.” The anger rushed back into Brandon as he’d been called that by plenty of guys like Chad in high school. “Cool it bro. It’s just an exercise. I’m not trying to make fun of you. Just see if you know what the ‘fairer’ sex is thinking.”
Brandon eyed the jock spirit and tried his best to keep calm. He blew a heavy amount of air out of his nose. “Okay,” he agreed.
“Perfect!” Chad flew around the room again, adjust his incorporeal hair, flexed his weightless muscles and flew back. “Sup?” he cocked his head back. Then pretended to not be interested.
“Hey,” Brandon said meekly. “I don’t--”
But Chad interrupted him. “You knew here? Don’t think I’ve seen you around much.”
“Uhhh… Sorta… Never been to a party like this before,” Brandon replied.
“Shame…” Brad replied. There was a moment of dead air between them. “Handsome guy like you should get out more.”
The complement was directed at Brandon. He could feel it. “You hitting on me?”
“Depends,” he paused for a dramatic effect then showed off a toothy grin. “Is it working?”
“Woah. Woah. Woah. I told you I’m not gay.”
“C’mon, what’s a little banter? I’m just playing around.” Though the roleplay didn’t seem to end. “What? Am I not hot enough for you?” Brandon stayed quiet. “Well?” Brandon headed for the door. “At least tell me one thing, then why are you hard?”

“Don’t lie,” Chad flew behind him and massaged his shoulders. The feeling sent Brandon into a more relaxed state. “Okay,” Brandon muttered followed by a few unintelligible words.

“I’ll fucking talk to Mark Cook alright?” Brandon said with a bit more conviction.
Chad was a bit shocked. “Wait really?”
“Yes really. No reason to hide it… I guess…”
“Okay,” Chad said. “Didn’t really expect that but okay.”
“Now I just have to make sure I make it into the frat…” Brandon stared at the ground wondering what the next challenge they were going to force him to do.
