Mom had been following the directions for the meal plan too… I groaned but low fat ranch was better than no ranch.
Pulling them out, I kicked the door closed and headed back to the living room. However the mirror caught my eye. Something about it seemed wrong. Normally I wouldn’t pay much attention to it as it was pretty high up on the wall. But something about it pulled him closer. I looked over my squarish jaw, running my fingers through the light hair that had grown in. “Forgot to shave…” I muttered. “Doesn’t look half bad. Maybe I should grow it out…” A grin crossed my face at the thought of it. “It’s alright man. Don’t worry about it! I didn’t expect you to get me anything. Let’s just play some video games…”

We booted up the football game and I just stared a little confused. “Is this what we were playing?” I loved football but I thought we were playing something else. I just stared at him. “Alright. But now I don’t. I need to get my workout in for today.” I stood up and headed to the house’s gym in the basement. Travis followed behind. “Course you would…” I smiled back at him. Our eyes locked. The face we were the same height caught my attention but Travis had to reply with a snarky remark, distracting me again.
“Of course I would,” he smiled back. “You think I’m about to miss a chance watching you work out? It’s why you invited me over, isn’t it?”
“Yeah man,” I meant to say it sarcastically but it oddly came out serious. I just ignored it and headed to the basement. Weights lined the walls and there were even a few machines down there. Mom had complained about the full length mirror, saying it was a worthless expense, but I couldn’t think she was any more wrong.
