It sucked that I had to work with Mitch. He was so annoying to be around. The 18 year old thought he was the coolest guy around because he was on the high school football team. The other guy I worked with quit unexpectedly. Really we didn’t even know where he went.

Dan answered the door like usual. “Hey guys. “I think we need to get started,” I said interrupting the two.
Mr. Barson moved from the doorframe and allowed us to pass. There was still a bit of anger in his demeanor but he didn’t seem nearly as mad. He just watched us push past him. “Just remember life’s too short to be an asshole.”
Mitch just zoned him out. He didn’t seem to care about what Mr. Barson was saying. Honestly it was probably better that way as he could be a bit of an overaggressive douchebag. He was prone to having the last word and insisted on being right even if he was provably wrong.
We went back to the bedroom and I could see him flexing in the mirror. Obviously still a bit jealous of Mr. Barson. “Can you believe that guy?” he asked. “Thinks he knows everything…”
“He is still a customer,” I said back. “Just be nice.”
“Whatever,” Mitch was still angry. “When I graduate and become a big football star and live in a big house like this that’ll show him.” His mind is still looking over his body as he says it.
