Doctor Visit

Jerry hated how he had to take off a day of work just to tell someone else he was feeling fine, then get charged for the visit. But still he sat and waited in the waiting room for a half an hour for the doctor visit he had scheduled.
He’d already filled out the paper work asking about his information. “That’s good. But you really gotta watch what you’re eating. I’m glad you took the advice to work out too but it’s really important that you watch your diet.” Dr. Canter looked up from his tablet again with a bit of a smirk. Jerry didn’t know what was so appealing to him. But he did feel a bit awkward all of a sudden. Like his sleeveless shirt didn’t quite fit him the same way or how his shorts were tugging tightly against his belly.
The way the doctor spoke still didn’t sound like it was making any sense. Jerry hadn’t really worked out since he was in high school. Never good enough for college sports, he just let it sit on the backburner while his naturally fit body just drank up all the alcohol and fast food he ever wanted. “How much do you weigh again?” Dr. Canter asked.

“You sure?” Dr. Canter asked again. There was a bit of a smirk on his face as he did so. “Why don’t we try weighing you again?”
“No, I don’t think that’s necessary,” Jerry said. “It’s still 202.”
“I’m not so sure. Stand up,” Jerry listened to the command. “Take your shirt off.” It took a bit of effort but swinging side to side he was able to slowly lifted the shirt above his head and over his thicker belly. Thick brown hair covers his chest all the way down to his belly. “That’s good. Now I’m fairly certain this here is making you weight more than 202.” Dr. Canter was trying to be friendly as he poked Jerry’s softer belly. “I know there’s quite a bit of muscle under there but you’ve got quite a bit of fat too. Step on the scale.”

“I know…” Jerry muttered. He ran his hand through his thick beard, looking off to the side. “I’ve been trying the workouts though. They feel good!”
“But you need to follow the diet as well,” he turned back to his tablet and started typing again. Jerry felt a bit uncomfortable watching him type so much new information. “I have a grand—“ Dr. Canter quickly cut himself off. “I mean friend that knows quite a bit about diets. I’d like you to meet him. You two went to school together and he just couldn’t stop talking about how much he liked you.”
“Oh?” there was obviously a second motive to why he’d be offering. Though Jerry was a bit nervous about regulating his meals to just chicken and rice. It was so much easier just to pick up a combo meal rather than plan out a few days in advance what he wanted to eat. Though even he hadn’t realized just how much weight he’d gained. He rubbed that thick belly a bit more while Dr. Canter finished whatever he was typing.
“I’m glad you’re interested. He’s going to be so happy to meet you. But now we need to move onto the last part of the examine. Drop your pants.” Jerry’s shorts dropped around his ankles and spun around. “Here’s a survey to tell us about your visit,” the nurse handed. Jerry circled all the fully satisfied and handed it back. He stared up and down his movie star like body wondering what it would be like to have those abs again. Whether or not he really wanted them, he knew he was going to call that friend of Dr. Canter’s.
