“Jeezus… I wish I could go see him tonight,” Austin mused to himself. What he didn’t realize was that there was there was someone right next to him who was watching him.
“You like wrestling?” the guy asked.
Austin jumped realizing just how close the other man was. “I mean sorta… I at least like the wrestlers…”
The man laughed. “Funny man. You’re really funny,” he gave Austin a hard pat on the back.
“I guess,” Austin was looking for his way out of the situation now. He didn’t feel comfortable around this man anymore.
“What if I told you I could get you into the show tonight?” the man asked.
A spark went off in Austin’s mind. Even if the sport hadn’t ever really interested him, he couldn’t help but want to see a show at least once in his life. Being part of the roaring crowd sounded fun. However, tickets were always too expensive and right now he couldn’t afford that. “How much?” he asked.
“No need to sound so cynical,” the man smiled. “It’s free. All you have to do is agree.”
“Agree to what?”
“That you want to be part of the show,” the man had a weird whimsical tone to his voice.
“Sure,” Austin agreed. The young man added an eye roll as he said it. “I want to be part of the show.”
“Good to hear!” the man gave Austin another slap to the back. However, this time it felt different. Austin couldn’t quite explain it but his body felt different. Like it was being pulled towards something. He took a step in the opposite direction but that pulling only became stronger.
“What the hell?” Austin questioned. Every second that pull just grew stronger and stronger. It was starting to be hard to fight. He looked over at the man who just smiled blankly at him. “What’s going on?” he asked as his feet slide an inch across the floor.
“You’re going to be part of the show,” the man smiled. “I already arranged it with a few other guys as well. Don’t worry about it.”
“What!?” Austin screamed trying to get other people’s attention in the shop. But no one looked over. It was like they couldn’t even see him. His feet slide another inch on the floor and he tried to take a step away from whatever was pulling him. “I don’t get it,” he shouted again. No one looked his way but he could feel his body pulling even harder towards the single direction. He tried walking the opposite way but still felt like he was losing ground. He kept moving towards something.
Then his foot slipped out from under him and his whole body fell to the floor. “What’s going on!?” he shouted as he body slid even faster against the floor. Without any friction from the soles of his shoes he was picking up speed at an alarming rate. He threw up his hands thinking he was going to run into a few tables with items for sale but instead he just phased through them. Then he saw it, Finn Balor at the checkout counter buying something.
“Oh shit. Oh shit!” Austin shouted as his body pulled faster and faster towards Finn. “Move out of the way!” however Finn didn’t move. No one even reacted to Austin’s shouts. Austin tried to grab something but his hands just phased through it. “Shit!” he closed his eyes tight as he felt his hand collide with Finn’s body.
“Is something wrong, sir?” the person behind the counter asked. Finn’s body froze as Austin’s hand was firmly planted inside the wrestler’s ass. Finn left the bathroom and saw Triple H standing in his doorway. The large grizzly man stared down at Finn for a second and then his eyes went wide. “Holy shit!” the man sounded scared as he looked at his body. “What’s going on! I’m Triple H. Holy shit!”
Austin felt his consciousness come forward as he stared up at the 6’4” muscular giant. Even at 5’11” Finn was usually considered pretty short to the other wrestlers. “Are you… Are you not Triple H?” Austin asked in Finn’s voice.
Triple H’s body turned and he tried to act stoic and serious again. However, it was clearly an act. “Why yes. Yes I am,” the man awkwardly said.
“What’s your real name?” Austin cocked a grin in Finn’s body.
The man stopped. His mouth stuttered a few syllables out then he gave up. “Shit… I can’t remember…”
“You’re a terrible Triple H,” Austin mocked.
“How the hell am I supposed to remember all that!?” he questioned. “Shit. It’s like I get sucked into this body and I can’t control it at all but now I’m being interrogated by…” he stopped and looked over at Finn’s body. His eyes traveled up and down trying to pull out some kind of information. “You’re not really Finn Balor are you..?”
“Nope,” Austin said. “Guess the same thing happened to me. But I don’t know what we’re supposed to do about it.”
“Me neither…” Triple H said. The two paused as the door opened again.
“Perfect,” the production assistant said. “Now I don’t have to look for both of you. Come on the shows going to start in a bit and we need you two ready.” Austin and the guy in Triple H looked at each other confused. They followed the PA down the hall, unsure of what to expect. Before they knew it they were in a large auditorium with their music blaring behind them.
“What the hell’s going on?” Triple H’s body asked.
“No idea…” Austin replied. He found himself drawn to the ring. The two walked down there like it was completely natural. The crowd around them cheering them on only seemed to drive them even more. Austin jumped into the ring and then Triple H pulled himself up. Being close to his fifties he didn’t have the same spry body that Finn had. However, Austin couldn’t help but see the referee. “You,” he stared even harder. “You’re the one who got me into this mess.”
“Ehh,” the ref shrugged. “Your mess isn’t over yet. Besides, you agreed to be part of the show.”
“Wait. What do you…” But Austin was cut off as he realized his clothes were starting to change. The comfortable t-shirt and shorts melted away showing off his lithe muscular frame. He couldn’t help but flex his bicep and see the round muscle bulge as he did so. Finn may not have been a power guy like the other wrestlers but that didn’t meant he wasn’t strong. “Everyone ready?” the ref asked. “Begin!”
