I shook my head wondering why he’d care so much about his hair. The solid brown color clearly looked good on top of his head. If he wanted more he could just grow it out past the military styled crew cut he seemed to adamant about keeping. Then again he was still fresh off base. I shook my head again. Please step forward.” Matt took a few steps forward and in for the first time the two looked angry instead of embarrassed but a word from coach instantly changed them back. “Were Diego and Joe at the assembly today?”

“And were you going to help them get away with not showing up?”
“Yes…” Matt hung his head low. He’d clearly not wanted to do it or worse, admit to it. But now he was standing in front of his dream while having to admit to something that could have gotten him fired.
“Mmmhhmm,” Coach affirmed. “And did they offer you any compensation?”
Matt’s horror quickly turned. “Wh-what?”
“You were going to do something you weren’t supposed to do for them. Did they offer you anything in return?”
“No sir. I wasn’t going to get anything from them.”
“Then I say we change that. You clearly did something for them. So now they have to do something for you,” Coach smiled. “What would you like them to do?” Matt just stammered through a bunch of single syllables. “Don’t be shy now. They want to be on the team. Don’t they?”
