Vanessa wanted to sound indignant but he eyes had to travel upward as she saw two men with their arms crossed staring down at her. The cupid flew over one of their heads and sat patiently on his shoulder. “Sorry,” she apologized as backed into the door. “Himeros,” one of the said. “That’s enough.”

“Not at all,” Anteros chuckled. “Just wanted to know what you wanted to do.”
Now the cupid spoke up. “Make her a sport fanatic!”
Eros smiled. “You like sports?”
“N-no…” Vanessa forced out. She took another step back at the realization of what she was currently messing with. It wasn’t just a lower mythological creature but ones that could actually cause something big to happen. Her back was against the wall and she watched the god snap his fingers. She could remember spending so much time searching through news feeds to at least have something to talk about with Matt.
“Still didn’t work… Did it?” Himeros grinned as he felt more of attempts to try to get someone who didn’t care about her to like her.
“No…” Vanessa admitted. “But it’s just because I didn’t try hard enough!”
“That’s not it,” Anteros scolded. “You still don’t get it do you? Cupid’s arrows don’t have the strength you think they do. It’s just a help not the answer. It doesn’t force people to fall in love. Only makes them open to it.”
“No! I could have done it. Matt could have liked me!” Vanessa still tried to defend her position.
The god just shook his head. “Mortals… Don’t understand anything… Maybe this will help.” Anteros snapped his fingers and Vanessa braced herself against the wall again. She didn’t know what to expect. All she could think was that it had to be bad. It had to be something she didn’t want to happen. However nothing seemed to have changed.
“What’d you…” she was about to ask but when she’d opened her eyes she realized she wasn’t in that small dingy bathroom anymore. It was like the world around her had completely dissolved and she was floating in a bright light with the three gods.
