The high school math teacher had all but given up on ever wanting to be in shape again. He’d grown accustomed to the large round belly pushing further and further out in front of him. And growing older didn’t help all the much either. He’d already passed forty by a couple of years and knew he would never get back the body he had in his twenties, even if it hadn’t all that great to begin with either.
Adam had only mentioned it in passing that he was a little jealous of guys like Coach Troy. It was a joke but the coach seemed to have taken it seriously while they were in the break room. “Why don’t you come train with me and some of the college guys this weekend?” he asked. Adam had tried to say he didn’t want to go but Coach still talked him into it. Now he was standing outside the high school track in his workout shorts and an old t shirt. Adam couldn’t help but feel out of place as he watched the twenty or so college athletes running laps around the football field. Their large defined muscle were already covered in sweat making their bodies look even bigger. But what really threw him off was how proudly every single one of them was to wear lycra pants. Some of the bigger guys had on some lycra shirts, obviously not as comfortable with their extra weight as the guys with abs.
“Hey!” Coach Troy called across the field garnering Adam’s attention. He jogged over with his clipboard in hand. “Glad you could make it,” he smiled as he stretched out a hand.
“Yeah,” Adam’s voice shook as he said it. “Glad to be here…” He couldn’t help but look over coach’s shoulder at the giants still proudly running around the track.
“Nervous?” Coach Troy asked.
“That obvious?” Adam smiled uncomfortably. He fought to keep his eyes on Coach Troy’s but they still faltered to the ground.
“Don’t be. Everyone here wants you to be here,” Coach Troy said confidently.
“You think?”
Coach Troy was about to say something when one of the students came up behind him. “Mr. Sanders!?” the student asked. Adam couldn’t help but be a little confused. He didn’t know anyone built like that. This guy was an absolute unit. Huge, thick, husky frame built on top of legs clearly strong enough to hold several times the weight above them. Lycra always looked like it was straining against a person’s frame but this guy looked like even the largest size was a size too small. “Don’t you recognize me?” the guy said after Adam’s long pause.
It took Adam a good 20 seconds before he recognized him. “Henry?” Adam still questioned it. This didn’t look anything like the Henry he knew. Henry was a good two inches shorter than him and looked like he was about to blow away at even the slightest wind. But now this guy was standing a good foot taller than Adam and looked like he weighed at least twice as much. Muscle packed onto every section of his massive frame, even if there was a bit of fat covering it.
“That’s right!” Henry smiled. The big lug really appreciated being remembered. But somehow Adam couldn’t shake the feeling that this was right. But there was absolutely no way someone could grow so much in the course of just a few years. “Coach is such a good trainer! I’m glad you decided to workout with us.”
“I don’t know how well I’ll keep up though,” Adam joked.
“Don’t worry about it Mr. Sanders. I’m sure you’ll do fine,” Henry said confidently as he started to jog off.
“See?” Coach Troy smiled. “Nothing to worry about.”
“Yeah,” Adam couldn’t help but still laugh uncomfortably. He knew he wasn’t really like them. And after teaching so many of them he knew full well that they were completely different people.
“What? Still nervous?” Coach Troy asked.
“Still that obvious?”
“A bit,” Coach Troy poked at his body. “Like I said, ‘don’t worry about it.’” He paused looking Adam up and down. “Is it the lycra?”
A smile burst from his mouth. “What?” he coughed out between laughter.
“It’s because I told you to just wear lycra today. Wasn’t it? Don’t get me wrong I’m glad you did but I know it can always feel a little weird at first,” Coach Troy said.
“Huh?” Adam looked over himself. He suddenly felt really aware of the lycra he was wearing. At least for a little bit he’d completely forgotten that he’d put it on. Or how his belly looked even more prominent as the material stretched tightly around his frame. It seemed to exaggerate every single one of his contours. “I mean…” his hand shot behind his head raising the material over his belly even more. “A little I guess.”
“I knew it,” Coach Troy threw a couple of fake punches. “Hot shot like you gets all the ladies but you usually don’t show off like this. Do you?”
Again Adam was thrown for a bit of a loop. He’d never really thought about women all that much but they sure did go after him a lot. “Maybe?”
“I knew it,” Coach seemed to really like that answer he pulled himself into a shoulder bro hug with Adam. “Have so many after you, you can’t decide which one you wanna be with. But with a body like that I can’t imagine them not at least checking you out. Being the star quarterback really helps too.”
“A body like what?” Adam was starting to get curious. He suddenly didn’t feel so self-conscience about his body. Sure he had a bit of a belly but it was just covering up his muscles. It’d become a solid gut from having such an easy job and not working out as often anymore. Sure the lycra rolled over some of his fat a little strangely but with a few workouts a bit of a meal plan it should be a lot better. And with so many people complementing him, he didn’t feel like he should have to work any harder.
“Don’t play dumb,” Coach Troy laughed. “Come on. A body like that,” he raised his hands displaying Adam. “Broad shoulders, thick chest, thin waist with clear six pack and a firm ass positioned above muscular legs. I mean lycra suits you man. I know some guys act like it makes guys look gay but I feel like they’re just more worried about their own sexuality. I mean, they are checking you out…”
Adam let out a bit of a grunt. His posture fixed itself and he felt like he was standing a bit taller. He flexed his arm seeing the bicep make the fabric tense even more against his arm. “Probably,” he laughed. Even through the shirt anyone could see each and every one of abs as the fabric rolled over the firm muscles. “Guess I do get a lot of stares…”
“Course you do. You are my star quarterback after all,” Coach laughed again. A wave crossed over Adam as he thought about it a bit more. For some reason it didn’t sound right. Something about it seemed wrong. The wrinkles on his face started to lighten up and his skin tightened more against his tightly defined muscles. All the hair on his body disappeared as he realized how much he loved to be shaved. Feeling a girl’s soft finger nail roll up and down his firm muscles just felt so good.
“I guess,” Adam shook his head. It felt a little fuzzy for some reason. The college student had so much going on that it just felt weird to take a second and think about everything. Lucky for him he had coach to set him straight.
“Hey dumbass! You gonna workout with us or just talk to coach all day?” Henry jeered still running in place.
Adam looked up. “Fuck you dude! I was just giving you a head start. Figured you’d need it with all that weight you’re carrying.” He ran to the field and started running with the other students.
