Mr. Barson goes to College Part 03

For never being on the campus before he seemed to have a pretty good idea where everything was. I stared around the place I’d be going for the next four years trying to take in all the sights. However, I still couldn’t get over what happened down in the auditorium. I couldn’t believe that somehow dad was able to turn someone into a living breathing anthro German Shepard. Moreover how no one seemed to blink an eye at it. They acted like it was the same old routine we’d been watching for years.
Matt pulled on my hand trying to get me to lower down. “Can I talk to you alone for a minute? It’s really important…”
We must have been coming up on the cafeteria because I could see the line wrapping around the outside of the building. Free food always seemed to bring out a lot of people. “Hey dad, me and Matt are going to go to the bathroom. Mind holding our place in line?”
“Sure thing,” dad smiled. “I don’t mind.” He pulled out his phone and started typing something. My gut sank as I thought what he might change. I felt like there was a blue mist coming out of the phone wrapping around everyone in line. 'Must have been my imagination,' I reasoned with myself. “Better hurry though," dad called out to us, "the line’s moving pretty quickly.” He’d already taken a few steps forward.
“We will,” I said. We headed towards the bathrooms and Matt pulled me to the side. “What is it?” I asked.
“So… You’re not going to believe this but Diego and Joe sent me their nudes while we were watching that assembly… I don’t know what to do. I know it was for me! They’re going to kill me the next time they see me,” he was visibly starting to get upset over it.
“They’re not going to kill you…” I dismissed. “But it is a little weird that they’d send them,” I lied. I couldn’t let him know that I knew why or how it happened.
“I know!” Matt cried out. “I really didn’t expect it! Not that I didn’t want it though…” he looked down at his feet but ran his fingers over his phone. “It’s just I don’t know what to do now. They still need to get their stickers but I don’t know if I can really face them… Especially after seeing Diego masturbating. I really didn’t think he’d be that big!” It didn’t feel like he was talking directly to me anymore. Rather just wanted to state something that he’d observed.
I couldn’t help but smile a little bit at the thoughts running through his head. He’d always had a bit more of a crush on that Mexican than anyone else on the team. And Diego wasn’t afraid to use that to his advantage. Just a few sweet words, a rub against his arm or ‘accidental’ flex from him and Matt would do just about anything for him. Matt’s eyes would go wide and his mouth would hang open for a few seconds waiting for the command. Even if it was something he didn’t want to do, he’d hesitate but still go along with it. Some of the guys would step in and tell him not to but sometimes we’d still find out that Matt did it anyways.
“Don’t let it go to your head,” I said placing a hand on his shoulder. “It was probably an accident and won't happen again. Just play it off like it's a joke and he can't be mad either. And if you need protection," I paused and flexed my arm for him. His fear softened as he stared at me wide eyed. "But what did you think about that assembly?”
“Huh? Oh… Same old, same old. Figured they would come up with a new rap by now or something… Costumes were ok but for a college performance I figured they’d be better. Same with the acting. But they sure did pick some really big guys! Normally I thought actors were supposed to be skinny. But those two playing the ‘bad guys’ were buff as hell. And that cop… Damn…” his eyes seemed to glaze over again thinking about the thick muscles crammed into a uniform that was just a little too small on him.
“Yeah… They sure did get big. And what about the guy playing Jermaine Shepard?”
“What about him? I mean he did fine. I guess I was a bit distracted by the cop… Wasn’t really paying attention to the anyone else really,” Matt said.
“But wasn’t it cool when he turned into a German Shepard?”
“I mean… I guess… But I’m not really into that sort of thing… Plus I think Clyde’s a bit cooler of a mascot too. But I doubt they’d ever have a gun speech on this campus,” Matt shrugged.
“Clyde?” I could barely remember a police mascot that taught us gun safety in elementary school. It was a giant Clydesdale horse that came in with a police officer and went through the whole spiel of what to do if our dad leaves his gun out or if someone asks you to hold one for you. Only now did it start to register that that didn’t make much sense. The giant horse creature was fitting into the same rules that Jermaine would fit under.
Matt seemed to laugh at me forgetting about Clyde. “C’mon man. He was so stupid… It's sometimes fun to think about. I mean he's built like a brick house but still I don’t think I could spend 10 hours a day as a horse. Or really any part animal. Just feel too weird…”
“I guess…” I nodded. I pushed the bathroom door open.
“Wait, you really had to go?” Matt asked.
“Well kind of… I can’t really lie to my dad,” I said. After I finished with my leak we headed back to the line. It must have been moving even faster than I thought because dad was right where the food was about to start. “Perfect,” I smiled and gave him a light punch to the arm.
“Almost thought you guys wouldn’t make it,” he joked.
However the person behind dad didn’t find it to be so nice about it. “Hey. Hey. Hey,” he got our attention. “What do you think you’re doing cutting in line?” He maybe was an inch taller than Matt but was easily four times as round. He may have had broad shoulders but they were clearly packed on with fat, not muscle. The large round belly stuck a good foot out in front of him. It forced his white dress shirt to sag over the belt on his black pants completely hiding it.
“C’mon buddy,” dad tried to ease the situation but it only seemed to make the man even angrier.
“Don’t buddy me!” he swat dad’s hand away.
His son spoke up, “dad… Don’t make a scene… It’s not that big of a deal.” He gently pulled at his dad but his dad quickly pushed back.
“Of course it’s a big deal. They didn’t wait their turn like everyone else. And I’m not about to be pushed around by some jerks who think they can butt in line.” The man’s face was starting to get red as sweat pooled around his forehead. He didn’t look like someone who let things like this go easily.
Dad paused and sighed. “You two go find a seat. I’ll make sure to get you some food.”
“Dad…” I paused watching him take out his phone again. He didn’t seem to be listening. I looked over his broad shoulders and watched him start typing into his phone. ‘The man behind me was born and raised on a farm. He’s built for long hard days of manual labor out in the sun. However, he still remembers his life in the office but has no way of communicating that with anyone. He knows that I changed it.’ I saw dad slide his phone back in his pocket as the blue mist started rising out again. I could see it wrapping around the guy that just scolded dad.
“Dad?”
“You can go sit down,” he shooed me away. “I’ll make sure to get enough food for you and Matt too. Don’t worry about it… ‘Side’s I doubt Matt eats all that much anyways.” He laughed at his joke and Matt started pulling me away. However I couldn’t help but look at the guy behind dad. He clearly seemed to know what was going on as he stared down at his hands. Twisting them back and forth, watching callouses grow harder as each second passed by. It looked like he was trying to say something but words were caught in his mouth. He just looked at dad who had a rather malicious grin on his face.
Their eyes locked. The man’s eyes went wide. His short stature quickly stretched out. Where he once was barely standing at the bottom of dad’s pecs, he now almost stood to the bottom of dad’s chin. Just in that short window he’d grown at least 6 inches taller putting him just past six foot. There was still plenty of weight around his waist but it held against his body tightly. The fat around his shoulders tightened up while his arms bulked out with new muscle. His biceps tore at the sleeves revealing two large mounds of muscle. He gasped at the sudden sight.
But more surprisingly was his white dress shirt quickly changed to a blue plaid one where he didn’t bother buttoning the top two buttons. The shirt was sloppily tucked into a pair of faded blue jeans that wrapped around his muscular thighs and ass. It traced all the way down his legs to the brown boots he was wearing. Dark hair spilled out over his thick chest and underneath his armpits. There was even a bit of scruff that he’d clearly forgotten to shave off this morning wrapped around his thick jawline. His skin darkened to a deep tan, riddled with wrinkles, from working in the sun all day People seemed to naturally back away from him as he clearly didn’t mind the smell of a hard day’s work.
The guy looked around nervously. “What’s wrong pop?” his son asked him. The man nearly jumped hearing the husky voice behind him. The son had undergone a similar transformation. Any childish features he’d had just a few seconds ago were replaced by a more rugged man. The fat around his face disappeared revealing a similar strong jawline, while all his weight from the chubby self, seemed to have transformed into strong dense muscle. Instead of spending his days playing video games and being inside, he clearly loved the inside of the weight room. The soft sullen posture was replaced with a confident almost brash one as he stood up straight ready to take on the world.
“Nuthin’ buddy,” the man replied with a bit of a drawl. He turned back to dad and leaned in close. “Sorry bout whut I said… If yer boys wanta get ahead of us they’re more than welcome.”
“Is that so?” I could see dad grinning.
“Yessir,” he had a bit of a slick grin on his face. But then leaned in so no one else could hear him. “But please… Could I have an easier job? The boy’s soft. He don’t deserve this tough of a life…”
“I’d say it looks like he’s enjoying it…” Dad nodded towards the son, showing off to a group of women. His torn off sleeves were perfect for showing his defined biceps. The tears went all the way down to the bottom of his shirt allowing his wide lats to poke out from the sides. He cocked his eyebrow showing off. Dad continued to whisper to the other man. “Or is it you who was never fit for this lifestyle?” The man backed away. Despite his tough masculine face, fear was clearly plastered on it. “Don’t worry… I’ll fix some of it… Just wanted to have some fun.” dad said. He waved me back over to come get some food. Matt stayed put to save us a seat. I saw him pull his phone back out and start typing away.
“You’re buddy Matt; he like football?” Dad asked.
“Like it? Not really sure. I mean he comes to all the games, but I’m pretty sure he likes the players more than the game…” I told him as I picked up two plates and started filling them up. “You got the guy behind you to let me butt ahead?”
“Yeah. He’s a pretty good guy. Just needed to talk to him a bit more,” it was the first time I realized that dad could lie to me. He’d always made sure to let me know that if I ever had problems that I could always tell him the truth and he promised to do the same. But now I knew. I knew something was up. He was keeping something from me and I didn’t like it.
“That’s nice,” I kept up with the lie. It was hard but I did it.
“It was. Does Matt like keeping track of your guys stats and workouts?” Dad continues asking about Matt. I looked over at him and felt like there was something off about him. But I couldn’t really tell what it was.
“I think so,” I smiled. “Gets to see just how big all of are. Plus watching all of us work out is a pretty nice bonus too.”
“That it is…” Dad trailed off, clearly imagining the 50 or so 20 year olds sweating their asses off in the gym.
I set Matt’s plate down on the table. He had his head in his hands. “What’s wrong?”
He just fell down into the table. “Nothing…” he groaned through his arms.
“Nothing? Sure doesn’t look like nothing…” I said. Then I saw his phone vibrate again. 2 new messages from Diego. Image attached.
