“Yeah man. It’s just everyone picks a bunch of players and if the players do good during the game then you score a certain amount of points. The better they do over the season the more points you win. And at the end whoever has the most points wins,” I told him.
“Oh,” he seemed to perk up at the idea and I was glad it was starting to make sense to him. He grabbed some more chips and dip and started eating it. “Sounds fun! What do they win?”
“We usually get a trophy and some cash together. It’s just for fun. But honestly it’s more important not to be last,” I told him.
“Oh?” Yuri leaned further in. “Why’s that?”
“Well loser has to usually do something they don’t want. Usually chosen by the winner. Nothing too crazy but we still like to have fun,” I told him.
Yuri stifled his laugh, thinking about it a little more. I wasn’t sure what he thought would have been so funny. Maybe it’s just where he was from. When he started working with us, he never really talked about his past all that much. There was always speculation but no one had the courage to actually ask him what it was. All he was willing to say was he moved recently and was looking for work. It was a bit surprising how it seemed like he knew so much but at the same time so little. At the very least talking to him was always a bit fun.
“Thinking about what you’d do if you got to decide what happened to the loser?” I asked.
“Yes but I also think the winner should get a better prize as well. And maybe the other participants as well,” he said.
Now it was my turn to lean forward. “And what do you propose?” He stayed quiet for a few seconds and I saw his face go a little red. I didn’t mean to put him on the spot, just thought he might have had an idea or two. “No pressure,” I pat him on the shoulder and stood up. “If you can get something special done in the next few minutes and it doesn’t cost you anything, I say go ahead and do it.”
A bright smile grew on his face as I said it. He rarely ever smiled but seemed very happy all of a sudden. “Alright,” he confirmed. Instantly he pulled out his phone and started looking up pictures of the different football players. I wasn’t sure what he was doing but felt like I shouldn’t bother him. Even if it was a party he seemed to have put himself on a mission and I wasn’t about to stop him.
I got up and headed over to the food bar. I stood behind Kyle waiting for him to finish getting his plate of food. He was such a big guy and wasn’t afraid to eat like one either. After playing sports all through high school and then going away to the military he’d grown to have a healthy appetite but seemed to have forgotten that when eating so much he should really work out as well. Being 6’6” his body dispersed the weight fairly well but a large belly still stuck out in front of him. “Who’s the new guy?”
“Yuri, he’s a guy I met at work. Said he didn’t have anything to do so I just invited him over.”
“Cool. Cool,” Kyle said. “Seems like he’s alright. Bit distant though.”
“That’s just cause he’s new. And I don’t think he really likes sports all that much…” I said. “But once you get to know him he’s not that bad. Just needs a bit of warming up to.”
“Yeah… Give any thought about what might happen to Chase?” he asked, changing the subject.
“No idea. I think that’s up to Dan. I can’t believe how much he’s winning by. Almost think he’d rigged or something,” I laughed.
“Yeah. For someone who never liked football he made quite a few of the right calls. Guess that’s just how it goes. But I’ll be happy with second,” Kyle bragged. “Well as long as nothing crazy happens today.”
“I doubt it. Beside Allen’s like 20 points behind you anyway. You don’t have anything to worry about.”
“True,” Kyle laughed. “Quite the spread this year. But whatever.” He took his plate back into the living room and sat down on the couch. He took up nearly the entire thing. Only Dan was able to sit next to him but with almost no comfort. His small scrawny body barely took up any space. But next to Kyle he almost looked like nothing. However, I couldn’t help but notice that Kyle’s round girthy body almost looked a little more trimmed up than usual. His wide waist normally took up two of the cushions on the couch but right now it was more like one and a half. While Dan’s shoulders seemed to look a little wider and he seemed to be filling out the jersey he wore a bit better.
I shrugged it off and went back to the score board. Just to give it one more glance over. Lucky for me Chase had done a glass canon approach and lost miserably. Three of his new players got hurt almost instantly and then he just couldn’t get any points for the rest of the season. Each week further cemented him down into his last place. “Dumbass,” I snickered at his overconfidence at the beginning of the season. But I guess lucky for me he was there because I was right behind him, firmly behind both Hank and Paul. “Oh well, as long as I don’t lose I don’t care.”
“These players are such large people!” Yuri snuck up behind me. He was staring into his phone at different football teams.
“Yeah,” I laughed. “They really are. Train all year round to be great athletes.”
“It’d be cool to be their size,” Yuri continued.
“Yeah…” my laugh was a little more uncomfortable as my hand went behind my head. “It would. But that takes years of hard work too. It’s not like it just happened over night.”
Yuri gave a concerning laugh. “You’re a very good person,” he said almost randomly. “Thank you for inviting me.”
“You’re welcome?” I tried to accept the complement but it wasn’t the most normal one out there. “You feeling okay?”
“Yep,” Yuri said. “Feeling really good. How are you feeling?”
It hadn’t meant to just be small talk but he turned it right around to me. But even in the moment I felt like something was different. I wanted to just say, ‘good,’ but something held me back. My head started spinning and I leaned over the chair right next to me. Yuri didn’t move. He seemed to just be watching me as the room spun even faster. Nausea overtook me. I let out a dry cough. “What’s…” I muttered but Yuri just raised his finger to his mouth.
I went silent as I felt the workings of my body start to change. The fat on my body seemed to be melting away while the muscles I hadn’t properly used for years started to grow. I could feel the blood pumping faster through my veins filling each and every one of my muscles with more oxygen. More blood. More power. “Grrraahh…” I growled out as I felt the strength building more and more. I gripped the chair harder. The wood threatened to break. My hands gripped the chair tighter, taking up more surface area. Each muscle was pulsing over and over again, growing. Growing larger. Thicker. More defined. I could feel weight adding on to every part of my frame while I could feel a skill that I didn’t know I had start to develop. My feet tore through my shoes while the rest of my jersey seemed to fit me more snuggly. I was still growing.
Then it all stopped. I looked down at Yuri. “What the…?” I asked but the fact I was looking down at Yuri instead of being eye level threw me off. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. “Holy…” My eyes stared as they tried to take in my body. I flexed my arms almost as a reflex just to see how big they’d gotten. They must have been at least 20 inches. Sure there was a bit of fat stuck to them but with how broad my shoulders were compared to my waist no one was going to say shit about it. I turned back to Yuri. “Did you..?”
He nodded before I even finished the question. “I thought of something to make the game more interesting,” he said proudly. I was too busy still looking at how my chest pushed out my jersey instead of my belly or how my muscular ass looked so round in a pair of blue jeans that wrapped tightly around my legs. Sure I still had a bit of a belly but it fit well with my large frame, just making me look even bigger. Muscular enough to push back but heavy enough to hold the line, a perfect lineman.
I shook my head realizing I was thinking about playing football. I hadn’t even done that in high school but now I had vivid memories of going out to the high school on the weekends with the guys practicing. And working out more in my spare time. “What the..? I never played football…”
“Played,” Yuri seemed to be on some joke that I clearly wasn’t privy to. “Your old life you never did. Your new life you do. But so do your friends.”
“What are you…” I was going to ask but then noticed that Kyle had come back for more food. His large 60 inch waist had trimmed down quite a bit. Muscle seemed to be packed into his shoulders and chest while his giant bulky frame was a bit more trimmed up. He obviously still loved food and eating but most of his over 300 pound frame was packed with muscle instead of fat. And it still seemed to be changing as his belly pulled more under his protruding chest.
Meanwhile Dan was standing right next to him. He’d looked like he’d never worked out a day in his life but right now his shoulders were growing broader. The XL jersey that he’d just about been swimming in when he’d gotten to the party now was looking like it actually fit him properly as his round shoulders and large arms filled the sleeves. Even his chest was pushing out at it. He stood taller with his back straight up and down. The computer analysis never looked so big before. And more over he seemed to be growing.
Each and every one of his muscle grew more defined and pressed even harder against his clothing. A strong tight ass pushed hard against the back of his jeans. Strong defined quads made his jeans nearly look painted on while his face looked far more handsome than usual. However neither Kyle nor Dan seemed to notice anything wrong they just went about their day like everything was ok. Still having a conversation with each other like this was completely normal. Well it would have been normal but they were bragging about how if they were on the field they would have done something different.
Normally that would have just been unconventional boasting but right now it almost felt like it could have been true. I shook my head again feeling the new memories cement themselves even further. Meanwhile Hank and Paul were just losing their extra dad weight and growing a little taller. The bellies they’d grown from just working and not eating right. Their long lithe muscles were built more for running instead of tackling. I couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous knowing they had firm six packs underneath their pecs. The jealously didn’t last long as I looked in the mirror seeing the thick power of my own body.
They were busy mocking Chase while each second ticked down closer to his demise. Chase clenched his big fist waiting for something but there wasn’t a chance. He’d been growing similar to me and Kyle. It made sense that he always thought he was one of the biggest guys in the room. He always talked that way. Always wanted to prove himself to us. It’s not like he had to be being a relatively small guy gave him a bit of a complex. I could see his body stretching taller and taller while filling out with impressive amounts of muscle. There was a lot of bulk on top of it, removing any real definition but his size rivaled Kyle’s before he’d gained the muscle. Chase was an absolute unit. “Do you like?” Yuri asked me. It drew me back to reality, realizing that everything had changed.
“I can’t complain…” I laughed a little uncomfortably. Even my voice sounded a bit deeper. “But how…”
“You needn’t worry about it,” he smiled back at me. “You are a good person and I wanted you to see the difference but if you don’t want to I can make you forget like them.”
“What?” I asked. “They don’t know anything’s different?”
“Nope,” Yuri said proudly.
“Shit…” I stared blankly. None of it made sense but I could definitely feel the difference in my body. It felt like I’d been throwing footballs for years. That I could walk onto any field and tear through just about any other team if I wanted to. I stood up straighter. I felt more confident. “This is still crazy…”
“Don’t think about it too much. Just relax and enjoy the change,” Yuri pat me on the back. “The game’s almost over so I think you’re friend has to do something he doesn’t normally do…”
I stared at the clock and watched the final few seconds count down. “Oh shit,” I said realizing that I was about to not lose. “This is great!” I rushed closer and Paul and Hank counted down the clock, emphasizing each number to bother Chase that much more. His round face went red as he realized he’d just lost.
“FUCK!” he bellowed out as the buzzer rang. “Shit. This sucks. Damn it…” Chase lamented his lose. “I thought I was a shoo in…”
“Can’t bet on all the newbies,” Dan bragged. “But now I get to decide what you have to do.” Each year was a little different. Sometimes it was mixing a plate of every type of food we had in the blender and making them eat it. Or the year that they had to run around in the snow in their underwear for 20 minutes or if they could write their name in urine in the snow. But this year it was Dan normally he wasn’t too mean. “Alright loser. You have to suck everyone who participated off.”
My mouth dropped. I wanted to say something but no words would come out of my mouth. It was like something was stopping me from embarrassing myself. Like this was normal. I watched as the other guys got themselves comfortable on the chairs. Dan was the first to drop his pants and reveal his pretty good sized dick. “Oh please… That’s about average,” Stephanie joined in. She wrapped her arms around husband. “Isn’t that right baby?”
“Steph…” Paul whined.
I got up to check on Jan. “Everything alright?” she asked.
“Yeah…” I muttered. “Need help with anything?”
“No. I’ve got it. You go enjoy the rest of whatever you guys are doing,” she said.
“You don’t mind?”
“Mind?” she paused and walked closer to me. Each step she emphasized her hips. One delicate pointer finger ran up the side of my belly and then scrapped under my chin. “So long as you’ve got enough energy tonight. I don’t mind one bit.”
