Hello everyone. It's been almost a month since the prototype release, and I wanted to share some details about the project's development and what I've been doing during this time.
Lore
The game's events will unfold before the arrival of the Goddess of Flesh in the world of The Last Barbarian. We will play as an ordinary cultist girl who was chosen to serve the Goddess of Flesh to bring her from the realm of the divine to the mortal world. The main game mechanics will revolve around exploring the temple of the goddess in the multi-dimensional realm of N'ul. Completing servant tasks and filling the chalice with pleasure and pain to resurrect the Goddess of Flesh.
What is the game mechanic of the game?
The Dungeon of N'ul will be an immersive adventure game with an open world. Complete quests, explore the world, develop relationships with other characters, get naughty.
What have I been working on in the past month?
I've been working on lighting. As the prototype release showed, Lumen doesn't provide high performance for most players, so it's not suitable for the current production-ready project. I spent some time working with lighting tools (which are completely new to me) to build the lightning workflow.
Working on the basic mechanics.
I've been focusing on the quest system, dialogues, and character attributes that influence gameplay, as well as interactions with items and characters. These are essential elements, in my opinion, for creating an immersive adventure. That's why I'm working on a "template" that I'll use in the future to build the storyline.
Dirty Liquids
Since this is an adventure for adults, I believe it's necessary to add the option to get our heroine dirty with various liquids (if you know what I mean). "Let's glaze that bitch!"
The first location and starting characters
. As much as I'd like to release a full build with all the quests and locations as soon as possible, game development takes time. Currently, I'm working on the starting location and some characters that will set the stage for our adventure together. Please be patient, and I hope you'll enjoy it.
