[Thursday] News Updates: A Day with Nickie Jean, HEX and Book Discount Updates
🕑 Added 2015-07-23 18:15:13 +0000 UTC Here we are, already at week 2 on this whole Patreon thing. Pretty exciting!Life continues to move at an accelerated pace. I've given myself a "shoot at least once a week" rule recently, but so far, I've been averaging at least 2 shoots a week, which is usually unheard of for me. I chalk it up to a re-found love of shooting as well as having this new Patreon account. It truly is inspiring to have you all here and I hope you enjoy all the things I have planned for the coming weeks and months.
SHOOTING STARS
This week saw me shooting Nickie Jean (seen above, framed against my print of our Opium Den shoot) and Lucia Garcia for their upcoming Fallen Constellations music project. I think I've probably photographed Nickie more than I have any other person. She's such an amazing chameleon, no two shoots ever look even remotely the same. Nickie brings an amazing creativity to her modeling, and I love getting to capture that on a regular basis. This was my first time meeting Lucia, who is drop dead gorgeous and a complete doll. I look forward to editing these images soon.
I PUT A SPELL ON YOU
This past weekend, I shot the first images for my upcoming HEX series with blue-eyed enchantress Meghan Chadeayne and I'm really, really happy with the results. I'll be posting the final images here in the coming weeks once I've finished them. We also shot a short video piece entitled "Mort de Druantia" that will be premiering to my Film Critic-level Patrons in August.
ON THE BOOKS
Last week, I lamented that I couldn't figure out a way to add discount codes to my books through Magcloud and Blurb. So, instead of discount codes, I'll just be taking orders directly here at a discounted price. For August, I'll be offering Katie West Goes to Hollywood. Check back with next week's update for discount and ordering information.
FEEDBACK
As my patrons, I'm interested in hearing from you! If there's something you'd like to see here that I'm not yet doing, drop me a note. I want everyone to have the best experience they can with this site and love being able to communicate directly with you!

Thanks man. I've always been very open about my work and the process, but Patreon seems to work better for this type of discussion than any of my other social media profiles. A lot of people, especially on Facebook, just want to see the finished photos and not care about how its made. I love that I can talk shop here.

Exciting times. I'm loving Patreon for not only seeing such great interesting work for being able to speak to the creator. The interaction is something which draws me to Patreon as I love to find out how shots came about and how you actually feel about the finished result. Great inspiration and learning for me.
