Have you tried another amp? What are your settings? If gain is at max, that's the reason. Make a video, show settings and how it sounds. Otherwise it's just guessing :)

I have been messing around with this but the noise seems to persist underneath when I play and quiet down when not playing only.

How fitting that this is the latest lesson. This past week while doing a system backup with my RAID. 4 drives were affected. 2 drives completely wiped. All of my music production and video projects in the last 10 years... gone. So yes. I'm starting over. All my GuitarPro files either lost or corrupted. Anywho... everyone, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE backups of everything in duplicate! I luckily have most of my songs bounced to MP3's. But now I have to re-record everything because of course all my ProTools sessions are gone too. To be more positive, my songs will be better, now that the Bernth lessons have made me a better player. Cheers!
