New Patrons + Important News + New Beginner Walkthrough + Poll Results
🕑 Added 2018-08-30 20:01:40 +0000 UTC Hey all!We have a big post today! But I'm going to try something new okay? We'll talk about that after we do some introductions!
Please give a very, very warm welcome to the following individuals *inhales a veeeeeeeeeery deep breath* @_@ Tyler N., Vavner, Kieran B., IReadItForTheArticles (<-- LOL), Kuki-Shift, AlmightyBash, ToS Retribution, Psycho, Xheron, Savvakis, Kumchacta, Jeroen V., Ornithorhynchus (What is that!?), Niko VAL, Rogue203, Sensay, JJ, William K., Deya, Ashley F., Karieva, Tler Wayne S., Cerigo, Brent020, Monkshark, Jacob H., N, Ben M., Jerry H., Dovi D., Arcanus M., Nicola, Sudoaptgetthis, Tyler B., DugzGaming, BenTheGoat, Matt E., Micael A., Siegfred987, Regansmash33, Reno, Jim B., Pacman, John S., Asmodai, Kara S., Alufic, Dunkoro, knighty, Jakob B., Lonk, DaturaWolf, Tsu, Scott OM., Alex I., Wolfhound3060, Bell19, James S., Vetrloi and finally Scott H. *gasps and wheezes and then falls over dizzy* xD
And I'd like to welcome back FrigidSquid again! Weebee!
Welcome all of you! I'm so happy to see so many new faces interested in the game and I'm extremely appreciative of your very generous donations which all go toward making it better and better, while also supporting me and my family. So *big hugs!* Thank you!
Now as I always mention, I'm doing my absolute best to make the game open development. That basically means that you guys know the moment I decide to change/alter something, you guys know exactly what I'm planning or currently working on and any questions you ask I'll be very happy to answer regarding development. It also means frequent posts. Usually I do one about every 1-4 sometimes 1-5 days depending on whether or not I have anything interesting to report xD With that said, I encourage you all to ask questions, make suggestions, give critiques and feedback as much as you want to. The more the better though, in my opinion.
You can get in contact with me in a variety of ways too; Discord, Email, Patreon and the Blog to name a few. Here's the Discord link which will never expire, so use it at your own convenience... https://discord.gg/y3V4hbN . There's even a quick shortcut in the game itself to get a hold of me by email. Just type "Anonynn" into the Command Bar and it will bring up a link! I very, very frequently check all of those resources though and have each one linked to my phone as well so if you post something expect a reply either immediately, within a few hours or by the next day at most.
Also, keep an eye out for your Benefits Email/Message in the next day or two. They will have a special greeting from me and it will have all your codes you've earned and how to use them. If you have absolutely any questions about anything at all as well, please let me know and I'll be happy to help! I think that's all I got in this regard. Again though, welcome aboard! *salutes*
POLL RESULTS + IMPORTANT NEWS ********
The poll results are in about how I'm doing as a dev so far. Based on 57 or so votes, it seems like 86% of you think I'm doing a great job with keeping you guys updated on everything and checking in frequently. Woo! That's really great to hear. I'm so happy you guys think I'm doing that well!
BUT 12% of you think that I need to work on that aspect a bit more. That's okay! I'm always up for improvement. Maybe we can get that number down to 5% or 3% even if I try hard enough.
One of the big suggestions from a long time friend of my named, Auril suggested that I need to be more concise with both Patreon/Blog posts and the changelog, and more concise with letting you guys know what aspect of the game I'm working on whether it's under the hood stuff or new content.
I've actually been trying out those ideas with this post by keeping everything in a few lines or very small broken up paragraphs. Let me know if it's helping.
From here on out though, the changelog will have a brand new section; Game Expansion. This section will give a brief overview of all the NEW CONTENT added that patch that is pushing the game forward. So if that section is ever missing or blank, nothing was added that patch/update to move things forward.
Another good point was brought up as well. Very little expansion of the game itself in a long period of time. I could argue this (since the laboratory is basically done now, Rold is basically finished and so is the rest of the house) but everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect that.
To address this concern though from here on out, every update will consist of ONLY expansion and bugfixes (with a few minor things here and there added in). That means I'm going to work on pushing out the new NPCs and all their intro dialogue, working on Aaleahya and then working on Rold's Favor which leads up to Chapter 1's main finale. Transformations etc will take a backseat until Chapter 1 is completely written.
BUT---I am not moving into Chapter 2 until all of the sub-systems are finished and all the remaining items are remastered. I have to make sure the foundation of the game is solid before I start expanding it otherwise you get into the situation where things are incomplete and broken.
Let me know what you guys think of this plan!
NEW BEGINNER WALK-THROUGH *********
Now then, instead of taking my usual 3 days off away from the game after updating to recuperate (and get my head on straight (I think this is important for Devs to do so we don't get burned out)), I instead took one day off and then began writing something that's been requested since the dawn of time, a walk-through for beginners.
I've tried taking a couple steps into helping newcomers since the game's conception...
1) I've created the NEW PLAYER and RETURNING PLAYER at the start of Chapter 1 (to help walk new people through what everything in the game's HUD stands for and where to find it)
2) I keep the Help Guide updated as much as I can and even have some stuff sprinkled throughout the Stats Page and the Character Description.
3) And I provide mini in-game explanations throughout a lot of Chapter 1 explaining this or that.
Now I've written a 5000 word beginner walk-through of Chapter 1 (which was an excruciating 2 1/2 day ordeal LOL). This walk-through will now be included with the game in a .txt file (same as the AMS READ ME).
So you'll see four items in total when you download the game starting with the next update.

AMS Beginner Walk-through.
You can also download it below in the attachments if you'd like to check it out. ^_^ Feedback is welcome and if you can think of anything I should add, please let me know so I can add and improve it. I would especially like feedback about it from beginners as it is aimed for them and I want it to be as helpful as possible.
**IMPORTANT**
The walk-through does NOT reveal every tiny detail about Chapter 1; it does not go over items, it doesn't go over what you should say to NPCs or what every choice you make does. BUT it does go into moderate detail about MOST of the important things in Chapter 1 and even covers a couple of secrets too that you may not have known about.
I think that's about it regarding the new walk-through. I hope it's helpful. :)
----------------------------
With all that said, I'm getting to work on the NPCs in the Experimentation Cells and they will be my focus. My aim is to finish all of their scenes (or as many as I can) and hopefully start on the Aaleahya remaster before the new Public Update lands. I'm also updating small things here and there to break up working on the characters.
Hope you all have a great rest of your week!
