News Patrons + Poll Results + Pictures + News!
🕑 Added 2018-07-30 21:00:10 +0000 UTC Hey all!Whew! I apologize about the uncharacteristic delay in sending out a progress report but I've been working doubles at my summer job for the last couple of days so I've been utterly exhausted when I got home. I've pretty much been getting home and working on the game for like...an hour or two before crashing the last couple of nights. Not quite enough concentration though to send out a cohesive/comprehensible report of any kind! xD I also would like to formally apologize to the newer patrons for not sending out this welcome message sooner! Please forgive me @_@
Now then, let's do some greetings! Please give a very warm (and apologetic) welcome to the following: James, Cooolooo, Cass, Dave and Benedikt! I really appreciate you guys taking the time to donate to the game and making it's continued development possible! I really hope you guys are enjoying our community and I encourage you, if you are not involved, to get to know some of your fellow patrons on Discord. Seriously, we have a fked up group of people but they are absolutely hilarious at times. I've very happy to know all of them! But anyway, the invitation to Discord is open and you can get there with this link, https://discord.gg/y3V4hbN which will never expire. With that said too, I really hope all of you speak up and use your voice---suggestions, questions, critiques, sharing your thoughts and just talking in general are all very welcome. I try to keep the development of the game completely open, so you guys know exactly what's going on with me and what's going on with the development of the game so there are never any unpleasant surprises. I'd like you to do the same! ^_^ Plus, I'm always up for meeting fans and donators, you guys help make working on this project fun and interesting! If you need to contact me pick whatever way is most convenient to you: email, private Patreon message, public Patreon message, Blog message, Discord etc.
All of you should be receiving your benefits email today too which will have all of your codes and how to use them. If you have absolutely any questions at all about how they work---please don't hesitate to contact me. I'll be happy to help!
I also would like to thank DXR for increasing his pledge amount so significantly. It's greatly appreciated!
Poll Results: So it seems like a majority of you voted to not worry about the Experimentation Cell NPC pictures since they are one-off meetings but those of you who voted for me to commission pictures for them won't be disappointed either. I have decided to commission a picture for the alaraune, who I've decided could wind up being a returning character/companion (both good and bad versions) depending on your interactions with her and if you decide to help her or not. So rejoice! Keep in mind though getting her as a companion will be tricky and definitely not a straight-forward process in either case. The Experimentation Cells are just the start of her recruitment.
Speaking of pictures too! Look! This is the new Apocamorphosis Title Screen (although the topography has yet to be added. The AMS logo is hidden inside though! See if you can spot it!
There's also another time-of-day variant coming as well which will likely be evening or night!
This particular area is found on the game's map, right here....
which is located between the novel and the game.
Our new background artist, Alexis has also started on the Chapter 1 image ^_^
Awesome, huh!? They are doing some amazing stuff! I dunno, if these images will make it into this upcoming patch/update but if not this one, then the next for sure. Oh, and my goal for the title sequence image is per play-through it'll choose one of the time-of-day variants ^_^
In Other News: work on the game is coming along nicely. I have been working a lot on the bad alaraune still which is taking a lot longer than expected, simply because I've been adding different scene variations to her (including the naughty) depending on what happens during your first interaction and since she'll eventually/potentially become an anti-hero companion, I wanted to flesh her out slightly more than originally planned. Right now she's sitting around 23k words---but by the end she'll be closer to 25k. The good alaraune and most of the other Experimentation Cell NPCs shouldn't take nearly as long (the good alaraune in this case will be using some of the same scripts, simply because they are supposed to be two versions of the same character, but she'll have plenty of unique interactions on her own). The bad one should at least be fully completed by the next update. I'm also in the process of slowly updating the combat logs which happen during battles (making them more diverse and descriptive) and Entice will flow right along into that. I've been working on balance and quality of life details as well that make playing a bit more pleasant, or helpful.
That's all for now!
