I feel bad for Kyle in it. I get why they got pissed at him but he’s so well meaning. I used to love Jimmy and I still enjoy him but he has become out of control. The fact that Krystal and Kyle were scared of him turning on them publicly says it all… you shouldn’t be afraid a friend is going to attack you publicly. But Jimmy’s so unhinged these days you never know when he’ll turn is rage and army of stans onto you.

Brooks needs to read some Paglia, a self-proclaimed lookist. In ancient China, a fuller beer-belly was the standard of good health and virtue and Rome had their own lookist standards with a more Herculean figure. Highly doubt one can ' defeat' lookism, it will just shift from one norm to another. I also think of regions such as Iran, Brazil, and Lebanon where beauty is obsessed with as a means to financial stability in finding a spouse. The U.S seems to be embracing the ugly these days and I don't think Brooks understands that his view is not really shared outside the U.S, where I would say Lookism is understood and people take good care of themselves and are encouraged to look great.

Never not my favorite fucking show! I think as far a culture decline is concerned, a lot of it stems from instant gratification which our minds have become so accustomed to via technology. No one has any patience anymore, and our brains are rotting because there is a large swath of people who don’t digest information anymore but instead purge it all. You can see it even in this culture war, where people deny progress to further their victim narrative.
