Yes, 8 is the max. You don't need it higher. Also, game doesn't have any patches or any other TOS breaking.

Is it not possible to increase intelligence past 8 or is my game fucked? Cuz i start with 5 and reading books improves it by a max of 3

Awesome stuff! If you could, expand the immersion and replay ability of scenes/animations. Maybe provide alternate scenes/events based on play decisions etc. Shelter was incredible, but I think we can go even bigger this time with Stellar.

Nice, I'd like to see big and drastic changes on the planets after we clear them. Maybe something like humans in the background too or human buildings or something.
