Boys, I love y’all but I’m really mystified by your take on the whole Jasmine and Matt situation. Matt’s entitled to want to get married, but why is Jasmine in the wrong for not wanting the same thing?! Matt has agency and if he’s not happy, he can move on, but Jasmine has been honest about her feelings and those are just as valid. Are we forgetting that these two were just fucking around when she got pregnant? I don’t blame her for not wanting to get married under those circumstances simply because Matilda’s in the picture. The woman is already living with him, raising a baby with him and not seeing anyone else and if that’s all the commitment she’s prepared for at this time (WHEN SHE’S STILL MARRIED TO SOMEONE ELSE!!!), he can either accept that or move on instead of pressuring her to want more. And Matt 100% only wants to get married not because he’s deeply in love with Jasmine as he claims he is but because he thinks it’s the right thing to do. He has clearly expressed discomfort with the relationship not progressing in the “traditional way” and I think his cultural and religious background are the driving force behind this need to commit via marriage and marriage alone. Don’t you remember his mom crying about her son’s cursed soul because *gasp* he’s an unwed father?! I’ll bet you anything that’s why Matt’s pushing for this so hard, so he can stop getting guilt tripped by his mom.
