I have two thoughts - 1. Where and when did he get the condoms? I can’t really see this planed ahead of time because they couldn’t touch yet (because of the string) and, correct me if I am wrong, Evan didn’t know Ansel was going to be at the wedding too. Sooooo either someone gave him the condoms, they magically appeared, or Evan was planning to use them with someone else (least likely). 2. That was one HELL of an ice breaker (condom slap to the face).
