Why haven't you put the new helm seat away, it's only going to be destroyed left out in the weather.

Just read an article about "performance" enhancements that people make to their vehicles that actually rob the engine of power. Your style of air intake was on the list. First of all the metal tube gets warm heating the air and thinning it making the air less dense. The other issue is that you are changing the air flow and the engine management is not calibrated for the more open flow and may not be properly fueling the engine. Getting maximum power out of your truck may not be a priority but if you ever feel it is underpowered, I would look at any "performance" enhancements made with suspect.

The YouTube channel Ambition Strikes built a roof over two containers using roof trusses that they got at a good price but that may be too flat for you. Another idea would to look at quonset huts. They are skinned in metal. This may be more resistant to the seasonal breezes you might experience in North Carolina than PVC pipes and a plastic skin.
