Give me more Mimic ideas!
🕑 Added 2024-05-03 14:20:41 +0000 UTCMy most recent map featured a Ship Mimic, which was very popular! People seemed to love the idea of seemingly innocent objects being mimics in disguise.
I'd like to tackle this idea and make another mimic of an unsuspecting object or structure, ideally one that is large enough to make a map of.
If any ideas come to your mind, drop them in the comments below! Let's begin the mimic-athon.

I think a Circus Mimic would be pretty fun and sell the whole travelling circus thing as a mega living organism!

a tent camp with an extinguished fire would be a tempting loot, and said wreck camp and a body of an injured human and slain wolf, with optional wolf and crows closing up . It would be tempting for saviors, investigators, and looters alike.

I did an entire town of mimics and doppelgangers once, it was a good time. Since this is for a map/vehicle, maybe a Pyramid mimic? Could be filled with Treasure Mimics instead of actual loot.

Ever think about doing some sci-fi inspired mimics? I just imagined my keyboard, mouse, and monitors as mimics, and could see the same for an entire ships console or similar!

A gladiator ring. The gladiators fight to the death and just when one (or one side) thinks they are victorious, the bodies of the vanquished disappear. Then they realize they are not able to leave the ring ...

I have a three year old campaign that I've been designing for my dnd group as we go. There's a mountain fortress in the middle of the island we're playing in. The entrance to the fortress is a massive stone door with a bas-relief about the history of the island. The players never went near it because they know the entrance is heavily guarded. But the thing is, it's a fake entrance, and it's a gargantuan tamed mimic of the bbeg :D
