Thank you. 😁 I am happy to help

These are all such good ideas! Thank you, I’ll be looking them up for inspiration.

I say do a airship like the ones you see in β€œCastle in the sky”

Benjamin Medrano

My two cents (two ships?) Steam ships. One a screw-ship, one paddlewheels (rear-mounted or sidewheeler). I've honestly been considering trying to commission a specific version of the former, though.

How about a smuggling boat? A seafaring vessel that would look at home in a Bond film? Ferry boat? Then there are specific vessels: The Blue Marlin has impressive enormous dimensions and is used to transport other vessels, oil platforms and other large facilities. The Marlin has a large lift that is capable of diving half into water to transport oil platforms, rigs or damaged warships. The ship provides 38 cabins, which can comfortably accommodate 60 people. There is also a warm-up room on Blue Marlin, a sauna and a large supply of boats. The Stella Deneb is the world's largest livestock transport vessel. Gross capacity - 50.947 cattle. Ramform Hyperion is a Research Vessel built in 2017 and currently sailing under the flag of Norway. Due to its wide stern, the Hyperion has a steady platform to accommodate very sensitive research equipment. Ramform Hyperion is engaged in towing numerous sensors that are capable of covering an area of up to 12 sq.km. The ship is able to move almost silently on water, which eliminates the appearance of extraneous noises that would interfere in geolocation. When a vessel is engaged in reconnaissance and research work, other ships are advised not to approach the platform for less than 10 miles. Sounds like a Bond/007 ship right? And lastly.. The Seawise Giant was nearly twice the length of the Titanic was a Japanese-built supertanker. The Giant measured 1,504 feet in length by 225 feet in width. At the time it was the biggest and longest ship in the world. It was so large that if the captain wanted to slow the ship to a complete stop from its maximum speed of 16.5 knots, it would take a full 5.6 miles to slow down. The Vessel mostly transported crude oil between the United States and the Middle East. Its history is notable as well. It has been out of commission since the 90s but in a rpg it holds a lot of potential for story in a modern setting imo.

River boats β€” travel and combat on rivers and lakes β€” different ones for merchants, military, nobles, and pirates. Maybe northern, tropical, desert, and underdark variants.

Chris Bates

A Dhow, a Junk and an Ironclad would be useful for some folks

Chris Bates

An accurate man o war, frigate and brigantine would cover most pirate themed games

TheWrathofKhan

Ship mimic is definitely on the list!!

TheWrathofKhan

Of course! I’m thinking a big airship map pack.

TheWrathofKhan

That is a really cool idea, I will add that to the list. I’m thinking it would be good for a phased map.

TheWrathofKhan

Ooh that’s a really good idea! I’ve always liked ship designs that differed from traditional European styles, and the Chinese Junk ship would be a cool challenge to tackle.

Tom the Fanboy

Chinese Junk ship with bamboo battened sails

pg43riel

A magic air ship or starship that IS actually 2-3 ships Merged and that can separate itself as needed, becoming 2-3 smaller ships. Like a Megazord and its diferent parts.

jared snyder

A classic just underwater map just rocks and sand and the boat would be cool. But, I would love to see some underwater sahuagin city/ dungeon maps, ships they may use for traversing underwater long distances... i could see them using giant sharks as a kind of transportation like instead of elephants with archers and such giant shark ship with sahuagin soldiers.

Christian Meek

Maybe an airship like the Grandcypher from Granblue Fantasy?

Thomas

Please do historically-accurate ships! A cog, a caravel, a knarr.

Shaughn Bryant

I would love to see a map of two ships locked in combat; perhaps a staged map with one ship ramming another and structural damage accumulating. This would be a great map for running a boarding action, either as pirates attacking a a prize or for PCs defending against a pirate attack.

Airship for our air captains?

Matthew DiAntonio

Best ship battle that I’ve ever run. A giant ship that was a mimic! The shock on the teams face was priceless

The Blue Raja

I run a game with a lot of airship involvement. One of our favorite maps is a dock system where I can interchange the individual ships depending on who or what is at port at any given time. Maybe something like that? I really like the cutouts I have of the airships because I can put them on different backgrounds for different settings.
