I make thoroughly crispy & golden brown toast & it’s just right, but it’s a delicate balancing act to get the toaster back to the *perfect* setting, after my husband has used it… He doesn’t like how *actual* toast can be crumbly, so he makes his “toast” barely warmed & still soft. Honestly, I feel like we’re having all the right kinds of disagreements, after 20 years of cohabitation. 😁

She’s become a bit more mentally flexible, so that some pressure no longer breaks her. That’s really the best any of us with otherwise crippling mental illnesses can hope for: self-management, solid coping strategies (see “pinch hitter”) and the best friends in the world 🏳️🌈 To add: as far as we’re aware, Anh is not yet “read in” on Hanners’ boundaries/needs and is therefore speaking from a place of ignorance and “normality”. I do believe Hanners IS the type of person who would offer their bed to a guest (in an alternate universe without the OCD), so Anh isn’t wrong (but is definitely being Weird about it!)

Identity is about the self, not the other person(s). E.g. Faye now identifies as Bi, and has had one -acknowledged- attraction to someone of the same sex. Bi erasure is still a very real problem for those of us in that camp. One’s current lifestyle configuration is a separate entity than how the individual(s) in that configuration identify themselves.

But she’s not panicking. Faye might be happier if she was. She’s gone right through Denial and Acceptance into Full Time Commitment. Though honestly, I’m still not 100% certain of her bisexuality, even if she is. We’ve not seen any evidence of her being attracted to any other women. The thing with Hanners looks like a very specific fixation. Which said, the thing about the leash does suggest that she needs to work out a few things about her preferences.

Hanners seems to have her boundaries intruded upon fairly frequently these days, usually causing her to look mildly traumatised for a moment, but she’s capable of bouncing back okay. The yak poo incident really does seem to have helped her a lot.
