She has been known to hug given the right circumstances (like when Tilly was going up to Station to be Hanners' father's assistant). She could treat it as an opportunity to expand her comfort zone. (Admittedly, she does not have the same bond with Willow that she had with Tilly.)

Interesting (to me) thing about crying. Most of the snot you have when crying is because your eyes have ducts to drain tears into your sinus cavities. Normally it flows back into your body, but when crying, it gets overwhelmed. This helped be to understand crying better.

i gotta say the hands look fantastic in this one. like just look at willow’s hands in the first panel! and i also love the little detail in the second panel of hannelore only holding the mug with three fingers. it’s so cool to see little details like that, and i think it contributes on a subconscious level to how wonderfully cozy and vibrant this story is to read.

Hannelore allowed for the fluids for one person: Tilly. She has also voluntarily hugged Dora (who almost stabbed her as an imposter), and got hugs with Bubbles and Emily- she’s come a long, LONG way in her life/mental management journey, but it’s vitally important to keep those boundaries and strategies intact.
