If you see Iris walking towards you carrying something sharp, Doc, RUN!
Joseph Bonnar
I'll agree with that one.
legobil
”They appear to have reached their breaking point. ” “Oh, are they very angry?” “No. It’s just their finger.”
Justin
Occasionally stumbling onto a great new webcomic that already has a long post history is the one thing that keeps me going sometimes.
Clifton Royston
Congratulations, Grace! Everyone deserves congratulations on a life change like that. Decent people are not giving up on our trans friends.
Darren Franzen
Don’t much like Wednesdays…I wait til 8 for the comic, I read the comic, then I’m sad because I have 2 days ahead with no comic I look for BookBeard’s links in old comments to read a few Just completed a re-read from 1 in November Guess it is time to re-read LotR or Rothfuss again Thurs & Fri to fill the void
Chris Warren
Was the wife also in the class?
Doc Gumby
Does Coffee of Doom now do pic-a-nic baskets?
Michael Steamweed
Is that a midlife crisis or newlife crisis?
Hugh Eckert
I also thought it was going to be a dramatic wardrobe malfunction breakthrough...
awgiedawgie
Turns out he was just really unhappy because he was doing yoga.
ValdVin
Did we know it was winter or fall at this point? I'm trying to remember a timeskip since the wedding.
Bagge
CUTE GIRL IN FOGGY GLASSES!
Halloween Jack
If only I had as much difficulty holding Downward-Facing Spiral as I do downward-facing dog! Heyooooooooooooooo
Michael Steamweed
Goot katch ja!
Creeperkry
QC 5506: Steve gets DOGE'd
Am Queue
Yes?
Randall Norman Pick
Yes
Stephen Wells
"One of my students had a breakout." "You mean a breakthrough?" "No, they escaped while my back was turned."
legobil
Is Steve retired as Secret Agent or just between jobs?
legobil
Imagine the lead up to the breakthrough. Was the wife berating or were they both completely zen?
legobil
Is that the same as “Rocking back and forth, sobbing” or…?
legobil
Was it a breakthrough or a breakdown. Who knows. Possibly both.
Opus the Poet
Psychotropic medications for fun and profit.
David Paul
Next, Avoiding the Sun
Stephen Wells
Why am I now shipping Tortura/Cosette
enchantedsleeper
Either that or she rang the yoga studio to rant at Willow, but them being in the same class would be funnier.
enchantedsleeper
I don't see it myself 🤔
enchantedsleeper
I didn't know that Marigold had a wife XD I also thought it was going to be a "breakthrough" joke about an object getting broken
Darius Jenai
It's pretty common when responding to a question to mirror pronouns. So Ayo said "they/them" because of a non-specific gender, and Willow used the same when replying.
OldGoat
@Zak, you speak with the Voice of Reason.
Leak
"It's only a mid-life crisis if your life is mid" (coming soon from Blockhead... :P)
Zak Hammerman
it reads as if the person's gender is nonspecific when they're introduced then becomes more specific as it becomes relevant to the conversation—it's a common thing I think!
Andrew
Followed by: Worrier pose
Andrew
If the wife was in the same class that would add to the awkward!
Ursus Ridens
I don't want Ms. Dragonfang to lose her lovely zaftigkayt. I'm hoping that her winter coat just somehow makes her look thinner.
Opus the Poet
Gigglesnort!
Ursus Ridens
Shhhh!
William Cole
I've taken that class!
William Cole
And sent Cosette a nice gift basket.
William Cole
She was going to, but then she heard that Steve drunk-bought a boat and canceled the hit.
William Cole
I was thinking that as well.
Kelly Walsh
Same. The struggle is real.
Yelling Bird
I have a trans step-daughter. :)
Elizabeth Rosenzweig
You use "they/them" in the third panel for the person who had a breakthrough in savasana, and "he/him" in the fourth. Was that intentional?
Claudia D.
Well spotted,you.
Grace Kieser
I had mine about two and a half years ago! And as they go, coming out as trans was probably one of the better choices!
Miyaa
I am starting to see what Iris sees in Willow, someone who has a mean streak that just needs to be trained. I mean Willow could be like when Ned Flanders goes out of control and then check himself into a psych ward after telling the whole town what he really thinks.
Claudia D.
Having lost 35 lbs in the past year and half, I’m here to tell you it sure makes yoga a heck of a lot easier! My knees thank me every day. So yay, Willow!
jonesnori
The last panel said "his", though, so perhaps there was even more to that Epiphany. Edit: Oops- crossed comments with BookBeard
Miyaa
GDI I meant Nelson.
Doc Gumby
And the hair whisping up from static after the hat comes off.
BookBeard
She does also say "his wife" in panel four though.
Holly Nelson
The weather we're having right now, her glasses should be solid with feathery frost crystals.
Yelling Bird
I had my mid-life crisis years ago.
Bridgette Ryan
Oh, see we don't get that kind of weather here, so I thought that might have been an artist mistake. The more you know!
Bridgette Ryan
I think they might be using they/them pronouns, as Willow does say "they", not "he"...
Michael Steamweed
I appreciate the attention to detail with the fogged-up glasses! That happens to me all the time when I'm coming in from the cold outside.
Bridgette Ryan
I want to know if Tortura fed Cosette to the pigs. She did threaten it in https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3428
BookBeard
Must have been one hell of an epiphany.
BookBeard
"Welcome everyone to Midlife Crisis Yoga, let's start things off with our first pose: Downward-Facing Spiral"
Thunder
Considering that Willow apparently knows for certain how the wife felt about it, I give even odds that she was in the class as well.
ValdVin
Giving Cleo a deep glow.
Captain Button
Or the secret alien clone army...
djellafine
Plus the hair static after removing winter hat
Chauncey
Jeph somehow made Willow cuter and I’m here for it!
Ben R
I think BooBoo was probably more involved...
angrytoast777
being a bro to secret agents
Sean Kinlin
And apparently the student took these actions (or some of them) before even leaving the studio.
BookBeard
Cleo, probably.
Doc Gumby
Other than eating cereal that is.
BookBeard
Willow had *that* sort of breakthrough already. https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=4617
TV4Fun
It was a really long time-jump, that's actually a grown-up Emmett.
TV4Fun
But what's Steve doing?
Gecko King
Jeph has been playing the long game. I bet he concocted this whole panel, maybe even Willow's entire character, just to make this pun! 🤦
BookBeard
Arthur is also the name of Melon's roommate. Officially the AnthroPC lawyer is named Nelson, but Jeph has accidentally called him Arthur on several occasions.
Doc Gumby
Yeah, I see it... rats. This is throwing a spanner in my crush on Willow.
Doc Gumby
*groan*
Creeperkry
This guy is in the downward dog house now.
Argus
I forgot Arthur was the name of anything except for Bubble’s plant.
Grace Kieser
How long was that time jump? Willow looks like she lost a lot of weight since we last saw her. And good for her!
Miyaa
That or her inner monologue’s engineer goes from Scottish to Gaelic.
Creeperkry
Dang, I didn't catch that!
BookBeard
Is it just me or does Willow without glasses look surprisingly like Emmett? I happened to glance at panel 3 before reading and thought it was Emmett which left me genuinely confused for a moment. We haven't seen them meet yet, maybe they'll turn out to be cousins or something.
Miyaa
Tomorrow: Arthur gets hired as this guy’s divorce attorney. All the money and fees he earns goes to the nonprofit organization he represents. It’s how they are able to upscale their offices. Oh yeah, the guy wins.
Doc Gumby
I'm in love with panel three Willow now!
Joseph Bonnar
Smarter than the average bear? I -think- not! (The last thing Descartes said before he inexplicably vanished.)
Thalience
If Marigold had a "breakthrough" in yoga, it would mean her pants ripped (which is what I thought the punchline would be)
Dan Isaacs
Too real. LOL
ValdVin
I've been to yoga. I've been to therapy. (ETA: Both were helpful to me.) Was there a crossover class I should be attending?
Bill Silvia
So much for escapism (╯° · °)╯︵ ┻━┻ /j
Vilinda
WILLOW!!!
Shawn K. Younkin
Yoga? More like Noga!
Tamara Macadam
ooh i like the fogging up of the glasses as she walks into the warmer more humid air of the shop. nice artistic touch
el_zilcho
I like the detail of Willow’s glasses fogging up after walking inside, good to know even fictional characters also share that struggle
Bill Silvia
Hope it wasn't Marigold.
