That part may be to do with the fact that this comic started in the early 2000s and its economic setup has remained basically the same xD But yes, the fact that Faye hasn't had any issues keeping up her part of the rent even though Union Robotics canonically barely earns any money is also proof. Maybe QC has universal basic income and it's just that no-one ever mentions it xD

It definitely was the fear that society placed on parents which then was placed on us in the 1990’s. At least this generation may be more aware that is not necessarily true anymore. The downside, that places fears to parents that their children will not be better off than they were. Whether they act or ignore this fear is another matter.

I guess that was her story in regards to Clinton. She helped him get over Emily (who also has been absent for a while), not only by talking to him, but also introducing him to Elliot. She also humanized Renee (a mirror image of Faye). However, it feels a little sad that she never really got the chance to have her own story.

Some writers get to a point with a character and either don’t know what do with them or feel that their part of the overarching story is complete. And that’s fine.

Ayo's parents seem like the type that told her "You have to get a college degree or you will never amount to anything". Then when she dropped out of school and got a job in a coffee shop, they said "See? Told you so." (edit: Maybe that is just in Ayo's head. Or maybe just in MY head and I am projecting a level of parental toxicity that is far darker than anything Jeph has in mind.)

Jeph's director's commentary on Brun suggests we aren't likely to see her again any time soon. I'm assuming that we also may not see Renee, although given that we see Elliot, who also works at the Secret Bakery, there's a higher chance she'll pop up. And Millefeuille might be around.

I feel like that might make it harder to keep track of 🤔 At least by Friday both site and Patreon users are in the same place. Our schedule is just a day ahead. Actually, before I supported Patreon I did think that it worked the way you're describing and that Patreon supporters weren't subjected to Friday cliffhangers because they would simply get the next comic. But it's more equitable if everyone has to suffer for a minimum of two days before they get a resolution 😄

I think that Anh eventually git the message that Hanners wouldn’t be interested, even if the process was tangled up with her confused bisexual realisation. I imagine that she’s been conducting some chaotic and inconclusive experiments ever since, along with acquiring an expensive rainbow-themed wardrobe. I’m still slightly surprised that she hasn’t been back in touch with Pintsize.

The trick is to get to the point where you've internalized the process. Break up your production cycle into individual, monomania compatible tasks. Write them down. Indicate prioritization. The pick whatever needs to be done soonest, and forget about everything else, including the "when". Just blindly progress from start to finish, then cross it off and return to the list. Personally, my kicker is when someone else is relying on me. My personal space is an absolute mess. Stuff gets done sporadically, or not at all. But any common areas are immaculate. And if I've told someone I am going to do something and they're relying on me getting it done, that's a sacred oath.

Ayo isn't doing nothing. She's deciding her own path for a change, which based on what context we have about her parents and studies, it doesn't sound like she did before this point. Going home to obey whatever her parents decided she should do with her time would be the passive option.

Was sitting at a meeting trying to explain to my boss this week the importance of her giving me tight deadlines, so I can feel the pressure enough to make myself actually bother with the task.
