The closest *real* thing might be traumatic bonding. Unfortunately, "Stockholm syndrome" is now so deeply rooted in our culture that we can't weed it out. Including super stupid stuff like "Beauty and the Beast is about Stockholm syndrome"

It's tricky. "Get your head on straight" in response to ADHD manifestations is kind of like saying "get motivated" to someone with depression. Both are possible, but not straightforward, and it's easy to fall into a spiral of self hate when you fully intend to not forget the things, to be places on time, to do the boring but necessary tasks, but continue to fail and disappoint others and yourself over and over and over again. It's extraordinarily hard to find a place where you can both accept responsibility for the consequences of your disability and strive to make amends, while not internalizing any associated shame, and simultaneously exploring ways to train yourself like you'd train a dog for the most important stuff.

Is she an asshole, though? People don't listen when you tell them nice, and Iris is likely to find herself doing this again (at the behest of Willow, to whom she can't say no). I get it. It's like the adage that people don't value what they don't pay for-- Ayo's forgetfulness can be cover for her putting her survival needs on other people to do for her.
